If Twitter is the source of games leaks, Facebook is the source of gossip. Over on the Facebook group “Gamers against Bobby Kotick & Activision” (population 626), Activision’s media manager Dan Amrich has denies claims that Activision sacked former Infinity Ward owners Jason West and Vince Zampella so they would not have to pay them a bonus.

Dan explains that the bonus that was originally going in to the pockets of West and Zampella will now be split between the remaining Infinity Ward staff – assuming there are any left.

“Those leaving are giving up their bonus,” he said, “The more people that leave, the bigger the bonus gets for the people who stay. Vince and Jason had very large bonuses; those bonuses are being redistributed to everybody else, to the people who did not allegedly attempt to steal company secrets.”

Ouch.

The carrot has been dangled – staff can stay with Infinity Ward and collect their extra large bonuses (thanks to West & Zampella) or leave and get nothing.
