Last night saw twenty TSA members battle it out in the first ever Uncharted Treasure Bearer competition. After six tough fought rounds we had our winner. I’ll now hand you over to Teflon who has done a fantastic job of writing up the entire tournament:
Quarter Final – Team Deathmatch on The Village
We enter the first of the final three rounds and right off the bat Topgearsam nabs the grenade launcher going on a 5 kill spree as the entire 1st party completely dominate the match. Everyone, that is, apart from teflon, who barely gets a kill for the first 5 minutes and is right at the back of the pack going into the last minute, luckily bagging two kills to tie himself with Sir-Dark-Haze on 7 kills. The final score is a lopsided 50-25 to the 1st party.
When the scores are counted, Topgearsam has blitzed to a 16 for 2 first place. Tobo_56 is knocked out having just a single killwhilst Sir-Dark-Haze and teflon are tied on 7 kills and 6 deaths each. The sole difference being teflon has 6 assists to Sir-Dark-Haze on 4. Teflon backs out of the tournament to allow the next round to commence quickly.
Semi-Final – King of the Hill on The Plaza
As with the previous round, the 1st party ran away with the game. TheLastGeek managed to Capture the Hill for the 2nd party at one point but aside from those 8 points they were unable to get anything else on the score board with the 1st party dominating the rest of the game. The final score is 50-8 to party 1. Though that particular score line was very one sided, within the two parties it was much closer.
At the end of the round Maneorix ties with TheLastGeek on 5 kills and 9 deaths but the single capture by TheLastGeek gave him the 2 bonus points needed to progress to the final. Meanwhile, the Party of Doom struck once more as Topgearsam is knocked out by a single kill and capture from Sir-Dark-Haze.
Final – Team Deathmatch on The Sanctuary
Throughout the entire 10 minute match we saw Yogdog, Kazamaniac, Ryan1991 and TheLastGeek taking the lead from one another over and over again. The fewer players on the map made scoring targets more sparse and kills even more vital. There was literally nothing between them and the two teams were level almost the entire way. Sadly Fokkusu and Sir-Dark-Haze never had a look in as they were completely outdone. The final kills of the game came in the last 20 seconds giving us the final results.
Kazamaniac and TheLastGeek tie on 13 kills each but Kazamaniac edges into 3rd with fewer deaths. The razor thin margins don’t stop there though as Yogdog and Ryan1991 both finish on 16 kills and 12 deaths. Yogdog however edges out Ryan1991 on assists having earned 2 to Ryan’s 1 and becomes the first ever winner of the TSA Uncharted Treasure Bearer competition.
Big thank you goes to Teflon for organising and writing up a fantastic competition, the full write up can be found here in our forums. Congratulations to Yogdog on the victory and commiserations to the other participants who, as you can see by the scores, put up a great fight.
Here is a picture of the final scoreboard, thanks to Ryan1991 for the quick camera work.
