PlayStation Move is set to cause quite a stir when it arrives later this year. Foxhound_Solid thought he’d start stirring early by suggesting some games he’d like to see getting the Move treatment.
Since the showing of PlayStation Move I have become increasingly impressed by what I have seen and heard. I admit I had few expectations as I didn’t see how it could excite me or tempt me to part with several ‘Purple and Oranges’. However, after consuming the morsels of information being documented I have become overly impressed with the new peripheral. Since then I have given my library of games the once over whilst gently stroking my four day beard. Pondering; which one of these games would I have liked to have played with Arc, Gem, I mean, ahem, Move – still getting used to the actual name.
There are quite a few really good looking titles coming through, with the graphics in HD being a real treat for this area of gaming. I have added a few games which I think could be a real asset to Ar….Move, let me know what your thoughts are.
Soulcalibur: Move, Strafe, Parry Edition
This would be a great place to start with Move, giving the gamer the chance to get to grips with the new method of control. You see I am guessing it is going to take a little time to get used to the new controls as they are much more precise than the Wii. As a result of this striking, parrying, dodging and attacking are probably the best way for us to really get to grips with what can be done with Move. The idea of going online and being able to go ‘toe to toe’ with other gamers is brilliant, maybe even adding small camera-style boxes at the top corner for each gamer so you can see them looking silly with their game faces. Rumble feedback would be useful here as a way of knowing who is winning the ‘Duel’ style parry sections where you struggle to gain advantage in the bout.
Metal Gear Solid: Move…in the shadows before delivering a head shot
Ah, my favourite series of games (at the moment, as the God of War Series is looming into this realm). I know this sounds strange but Hideo Kojima has yet to disappoint me. I mean, even Sons of Liberty was a triumph for me. Playing Raiden was a way of knowing Snake from a different perspective, more an apprentice of his which I thought was a moment of genius. MGS: Move would be a fusion idea, bringing the little traits of Metal Gear Acid into the mainstream of the MGS Universe. Instructing would be how the game would play, with the main course of the game being real time boss battles, set piece battles and other little intricate parts such as bringing vehicles into MGS as well as possible command of the ship that Otacon uses. Maybe we could bring in some air support? The ideas here really could go on forever, but the potential is there for Hideo and Co to really come up with something special. For this reason I think if he sat behind those wise spectacles of his more moments of amazement would emit from his ultimate gaming brain.
Devil May Cry: Move….out of the way of the hordes of demons whilst firing up Ebony and Ivory
I think this would sit at the top of the pile, if this was in the vein of DMC 1 or 3 – it would, erm….’ROCK!!’. Co op would be where the new twist could be added with the characters such as Sparda, Lady, Virgil and the bald headed dude that looked like a member of ‘Right Said Fred’ being possible additions to add new depths to the game. I would like there to be a mixture of first and third person gameplay with the option to chose whichever suits your style of gaming. The frantic pace and fun of ‘Popping Off’ Ebony and Ivory whilst wielding that sword just seems to call out for a Move Edition. I still own all the DMC Games - for Move, DMC3 would be my choice of gameplay, playing (as always) GUNSLINGER. The idea of literally carrying out the slick moves in order to get Dante to play out ‘Gunslinger Style’ would be brilliant. Devil May Cry was a star of a game and really took the shine away from Castlevania and the such. With 1 and 3 being the stand out titles, maybe Move could be the rejuvenation this game series is looking for?
Heavenly Sword: Move….in the same way Sixaxis did only much, much more
Heavenly Sword, an unsung hero to be honest, the storytelling style, the tasks and style of gameplay would suit Move. This could be the game’s chance to really own and occupy the righteous pedestal of gaming greatness it deserves. This would in many ways be sat opposite DMC, tapping its leg whilst waiting to be called out. But this again would be a great game to get in the zone with. I think it would be good to give yourself a lot of room with this one as I remember the areas you fight in being really spread out. This could be good especially with the amount of depth and possible weapon variation each battle could offer.
Indiana Jones: Move…..as fast as you can waggle the wands as there is a huge boulder behind you
This needs no real sell does it people? I mean cracking the whip and popping off the old-school gun whilst constantly trying to retain your head gear? This game would be the fun and relaxed title we would be looking for. I would like to see a fusion of the Indiana J of old with some new Uncharted-esque challenges and adventures. Indiana Jones is a game that should have been excellent from the beginning but Lucas Games never really seemed to hit the spot. They are very much like Chips without the Salt and Vinegar. Nice, alright even, but something is just…. missing.
