Video Games Embraced By Ivor Novello Awards 12

Killzone 2 has won the inaugural Ivor Novello award for ‘Best Original Video Game Score’.

It was announced at the beginning of the year that the prestigious award ceremony would include a new category recognising excellence in video game soundtracks.

Joris de Man has become that category’s first ever winner with his brilliant work for Guerilla Games’ Killzone 2, beating off competition from Empire: Total War and and Savage Moon: Waldgeist.

The new award was set up to represent the “ever-changing world” of composing.

The Ivors are judged and presented by the writing community and only recognise music that has had a British or Irish  composing contribution of at least a third.
