Halo 3 has “Outsold PS3 Exclusives”

35In an arrogant but somehow still rather throwaway Tweet, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has declared Halo 3 has outsold most of the PS3′s exclusives, combined.
“Just in from research team,” he says, referring to NPD. “Halo 3 has outsold Resistance 1 + 2, Uncharted 1+2, Killzone 2 and God of War III COMBINED… wow.”
This being NPD, we’re assuming he’s tracking this sweeping comment via sales figures from the States, but if true – then yes, wow indeed, and just goes to show the power of Bungie’s FPS brand.

Well if he’s putting those figures out to try and make people think that HALO is the best game ever, based on sales, then that means MW2 is one of the nest games of all times! I know it’s not an exclusive, but sales don’t mean anything. The amount of people that probably bought more than 1cd due to laser burn, not to mention that HALO was sold with every XBOX. Those stats hold no water IMO.

Sorry for the double post. I meant to also say that as we all know, MW2 isn’t the best game to ever grace consoles…just one of the best selling ones. Not bashing, as I still play it sometimes. Anyway, I doubt HALO outsold all the PS3 exclusives combined. Seriously? If that’s true, then WOW. Give Jack his jacket.

I’m gonna love it when my mate comes up with his head held high, nose in the air and says “Hey, guess what. Halo 3 outsold every PS3 exclusive to date, combined!” and I reply smugly “Did you scroll down after reading that?”

to some degree I bought a 360 because of Halo 3 (Never played previous ones) and because of the hype. I also bought a 200m internet cable and xbox live subscription.
In reality the game was definately not worth all that dosh. My only memories were the loading times being huge, my first impression of the game being very kiddy and cartoony. Oh and playing online with my father-in-law and the first time hearing him say the f-word, continously over the internet.

This is just a really bizarre statement, much like the metacritic stuff at the end of last year. Also surely the research team have more important things to do this close to E3.

Its funny that they didnt include LBP, Modnation (i know its only just come out but its supposed to be selling well), Heavy Rain, Infamous and Heavenly Sword…why pick only a few different titles, instead of some of the other highly popular titles? Research department? More like a “lets try to make x-box look good with crappy information that doesnt make sense” department…
