Announced at the start of the Microsoft keynote, all Call of Duty titles’ DLC will be released first on 360 in 2010, 2011 and 2012.
The three year deal seems to only focus on the popular war series, signalling just how lucrative Microsoft expect the franchise to remain in the coming years.
It’s hardly a surprising agreement considering how current Call of Duty mega-hit Modern Warfare 2′s DLC was released as a timed exclusive on Microsoft’s console, but it’s interesting nonetheless that this trend will continue with Call of Duty: Black Ops and upcoming unannounced CoD titles in the near future.

Lol this just sums up all that MS are about. I hope by then the COD franchise is dead and buried.

I really don’t see how this benefits MS. This wouldn’t make me want to get a 360 even if I liked CoD online.

CoD Black Ops looks amazing, but it will be interesting to se what happens after that, I think MoH may well become the bigger name, and whatever Respawn turn their hand to

timed exclusivity of this nature seems a little pointless to me. I can understand the business sense when it comes to large singleplayer offerings such as Gay Tony for GTAIV and so on, as that exclusivity lasted a long time and the additional content almost constituted a new game in its own right.
Operating on the assumption that this deal will see exclusivity on a par with that of COD:MW2 – is a matter of weeks wait for what is essentially a few new MP maps really gonna improve 360 sales or prove detrimental to their adversaries? Personally, I think not.
Microsoft could, in my opinion spend that money more effectively elsewhere. Even if it was just on a poster campaign, on bus shelters, in moss side.

Agreed. If this is more month-long timed-exclusives, it will surely have little effect on game sales. My brother’s been chomping at the bit for the new DLC but didn’t go out and buy the 360 version just to play it (even though he could play it on my 360).

Oh hell, I have to wait a month or so to buy overpriced COD map packs for my PS3 or Steam? I’m pissed.

Don’t be. That’s what the people at MS want.
