Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s keynote is EA’s. We might have already today seen Call Of Duty Black Ops, Halo: Reach, Gears Of War 3 and Kinect, but EA have some rather special ammo of their own. First up is the Criterion developed Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit.
The title will come as no surprise to anyone who checked in on TheSixthAxis the other day, as it was kinda spoiled by some E3 promotional posters, but if it makes the fantastic guys Criterion feel better, we can pretend we only just heard.

No, story based.
Watched interview on Gamespot, says you can play through the game as racer, cop or a mixture of both (online too).
It’s looking, and sounding good.

No mention on Criterion’s site of it being free-roam.

The Autolog feature sounds clever though…

You guys must be working flat out to try and get all the videos that just came from EA! I cant wait until they are posted. EA was the highlight of E3 so far for me.

I completely forgot about the Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit post the other day and when I was watching this I immediately thought wow that looks like a new Burnout game. Until I saw the standard names of the people in the cars next to them and the fact that my brain switched into gear about what it was, you could really tell it was by Criterion [btw, I'd missed the opening talk of it as I was on the phone and had muted the laptop].
Looks a great title with all the Need For Speed goodies mixed in with the Burnout brilliance.

YES! watching this brings back so many good memories of the previous hot pursuits.. and with criterion making it will be amazing. Just looking over the EA conf now and was so much more impressive than what MS had to offer.

Sick of Need for Speed it’ll just end up having the same three levelled performance upgrades which is really getting old now.
I just hope its a fresh new racing game.

Chin meets floor! WOW I remember all the hype over the PS2 one. My mate got his mom to go get it and we sat there for hours playing it, me always being the dodge viper, of course!
This brought back a little nostalgia for me, it looks so modern and flashly but at the same time has something very familiar about it. Im praying you will be able to wreck the cars like you could on burnout! I know some car makes are very snobby about scratching their master pieces.
