Just in case you missed it over on the official PlayStation Blog, the PlayStation Facebook application can be found here: http://apps.facebook.com/playstation/ if you’re a Facebooker.  Or something.

I’m not a Facebook user myelf, so can’t comment on the function of this application, but I’ve heard you can only message your Facebook friends with it that are also on the PSN, and that you have to ‘like’ the app to add it to your page.  More info on that here.

Regardless, this is Sony really pushing the Facebook side of things, what with this and the cool updates to the Photo Gallery, so let’s hope some form of Twitter integration is coming next.

Let us know how you get on with the Facebook app in the comments.

  1. Doesn’t seem to be working for me at the moment:

    • Your link is going off the page.

  2. It’s quite nice so far. I’ve got my PSN profile attached to my facebook profile now for all to see but you can only really check your Trophies. Otherwise I haven’t seen anyone on my friends list yet to be able to comment on message sending, but maybe thats because they also have to activate it?

  3. The friends bit for me is also not working. Would be cool if it allowed you to see Facebook friends who you haven’t added on the PSN yet so you could add them

    • Maybe your facebook friends haven’t added the PSN app yet.

      • Just checked it does work just only lists your friends that have added the app.

  6. I was hoping this would allow me to see facebook friends I had not yet added on PSN. I don’t see the point of this app?

    • It may well do, but then those friends would need this app installed as well.

    • Hopefully, I will check it in a few days. How have people got it to display on their main page?

      • Go to Account -> Application Settings -> PlayStation Network Application -> Edit Settings and where it says ‘Tab available’ click on that and it will add it to a tab on your Facebook profile. Then drag the tab to re-arrange it to position it first or further to the left in your tab list.

      • It does. Providing that your friend also has the app installed, it will let you know if you have them on PSN and if not it will allow you to add them.

  7. Yay, now I get to tell everyone on facebook when I get a bronze trophy for starting my first race / killing my first bad guy / finding my first treasure. Right?

    • You could do that months ago ;)

  8. Looking forward to some sort of Twitter integration next!
