Another TSA community event coordinated by one of our wonderful community members. I’ll Pass you over to teflon (and colin!) for the skinny…

Uncharted Treasure Bearer is back! I’m sure that Chloe will be really excited to have all the attention once again (from someone other than Sully). Elena’s a bit too loved up with Nate to really notice, but I’m sure she’d be really happy too.

So Yogdog’s title is under threat, and he’ll have to defend it in a gruelling test of personal skill, consistency and teamwork. Sound good so far? Here’s how the competition works:
The tournament will be played on Thursday the 15th of July and will start at 8PM BST. The maximum number of players is 20, if more than 20 applications are received then names will be drawn at random. Once the 20 players have been selected they will be randomly put into two parties of 10 and then separated into teams of 5.

Each round will consist of a 10 minute match played on a randomly selected map and a predetermined game mode (which will now also include Chain Reaction and Elimination).  At the end of each round the lowest scoring player, based on kills, deaths and assists is eliminated from each team. Does that mean this competition is all about kills? Oh no. Winning objective based games will improve your chances of progression. Capturing a control point counts as 2 extra kills towards your score and a plunder capture will count as 3 extra kills. Also at the end of round 3 the winning team is exempt from elimination so only the lowest scoring player in the losing side will be knocked out.

After round 3 both parties will join to form one match with the previous parties now the new teams. Enemy of my enemy and all that. At the end of both round 4 and 5 one player will be eliminated from each team leaving 6 participants standing. These 6 players will then play in one final match with the results determining the final tournament standings.

No DLC is required and all boosters and skins are allowed, excluding for Situational Awareness.

If that rule set wasn’t extensive enough for you, there’s a new UTB thread in the Uncharted 2 forum, where Teflon has posted an even longer set and you can ask him as many questions as you like.

TSA points and prizes will be allocated depending on final standings. 1st place – 250 points and a £20 PSN code, 2nd place – 150 points, 3rd place – 100 points and the other three finalists receiving 20 points. There will also be some other, slightly more tangible winnings, which will be revealed along with the player list on the 12th.

Entries should be sent to colin@thesixthaxis.com before midnight on Sunday the 11th of July with the subject line “Uncharted Treasure Bearer”. All entries must include your TSA and PSN ID, entries without these will not be counted and I’ll personally come round and give you a good slap. A reminder that the weekly Uncharted 2 meet takes place on Thursdays at 7PM BST. Make sure you are there and give yourself the best chance possible in the competition!
