Red Dead DLC Packs Detailed

Rockstar have announced that they will continue to support Red Dead Redemption, with four new DLC packs heading to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network over the next few months, following the recent ‘Outlaws to the End’ co-op pack.

They have detailed the four packs and priced three of them. The packs will be here quite soon, with the first, ‘Legends and Killers Pack’ releasing at the beginning of August. This features 9 new multiplayer maps and 8 new multiplayer characters based on characters from Red Dead Revolver. It also features a new projectile weapon, known as the Tomahawk, which is a throwing axe. The pack will feature new single player and multiplayer challenges for this weapon. It will also have brand new trophies and achievements for players to collect. It is priced at $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. EU conversions for this price has yet to be announced.

Releasing second is the ‘Liars and Cheats Pack,’ which features a new multiplayer mode: ‘Attack and Defend,’ multiplayer horse racing, a new character set based on the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, and multiplayer mini-games such as Liars Dice and Poker. This also features a new weapon: The Explosive Rifle. This pack also features new challenges and trophies/achievements and is priced at the same $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points as the first.

Next up is the ‘Free Roam Pack,’ which includes brand new free roam challenges, new gang hideouts to tackle, Posse leaderboards and scoring – which sounds similar to clan support – adding to the multiplayer free roam experience.

Last, but definitely not least, is the ‘Undead Nightmare Pack’. This includes, you guessed it, Zombies! There are 8 new multiplayer Zombie characters to choose from, more animals available in the wild and new dynamic events. The best part looks to be the brand new single player add-on featuring new challenges and quests. No other details are given but Rockstar claim that there are still more details to follow. This will be priced at $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points and it looks as though you’ll be getting a lot for your money.

Rockstar seem to be spoiling us with all of this new content. Four new packs over the next few months, one of which is a full add-on to the single player? I can’t wait! Not much is known about the ‘Undead Nightmare’ add-on, but Rockstar tease us with the line “Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong“. Zombies!

  1. Zombies?! I’m there.

  2. Two singleplayer packs! Nice!

    • yea, im not sure if ill get it though, im getting a little bored of the game, and im only half way through i think

  3. Seems a bit pricey though – Are we assuming that it is the standard conversion rate of $1 = £1?? (as most other things seem to be)

    • I reckon it will be £7.99 for us

      • Yeah, that seems to be the average price for us.

    • seems cheap for what we get. MW2 didn’t have as much stuff and people lapped it up. this seems like a bargain by comparison.

  4. I like the sound of the first three packs, but I’m not sure about the zombies.

  5. the GOOD the BAD and the UNDEAD

    • Good one, how about “The Quick and the Undead”, or “A Man called Braains”..

  6. This is fantastic news, but it’s the single-player expansion I’m most looking forward to – I really hope we get something similar to The Lost & The Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony as well…

    • Single player indeed. Not too interested in the mp side of things. I want more guns in the sp add on, and maybe a new town added or something. Would be cool.

  7. Buying all of these.

  8. im never a big fan of multiplayer so im glad they’ve included single player dlc too.

  9. It aint a real game unless it has zombies in it eh ?

  10. Why can’t all game companies be like Rockstar.

    • there my favorite game company by a mile.
