Believe us when we say Dragon Age 2 is something that is real. Shrouded in specious half-truths and the sufferer of premature announcements, we at least now know that, officially and categorically, there be more dragons and more ages a-comin’.

But for those who don’t believe something is real unless it’s standing front and centre, incessantly kicking them in the nutbag/female equivalent, here’s photographic proof that the game exists. Like you ever doubted the fact.

Dragon Age 2 is scheduled for a March 2011 release.

    • It’s early days yet… the graphics aren’t finished

      • thats good to know, as it looks like a PS2 game thus far. I didnt play DA1, so i most likly leave this

      • of course its early days it was only announced this week!

      • they wouldnt allow screenshots to be put out yet if the graphics werent almost what they were shooting for

  2. The detail looks about the same but the second shot is more revealing. Appears that they’ve taken the sheen off of everything and the matte/earthy look really suits the skin tones a lot more.

  3. Not sure if this actually looks bétter..

  4. For those of you without a brain, this is pre-alpha…

    • with a brain still think’s its different…and not as good.

      • It’s not as good because it’s pre-alpha! they’ve got nearly a year of dev time yet.

      • pre alpha code, not graphics. graphics will change a tad of course, but not that much

    • I didn’t think I had to mention that considering it’s not out until March 2011!
      :)

But, good point. Yes, this is not the finished article.

      • Damn right it’s not the finished article. “there’s more dragons and more ages a-comin’” should be “there are more dragons and more ages a-comin’. I jest of course Kovacs :smileyhappy:

      • It’d be good to mention it everytime as I guess some games have graphics close to looking completed whilst they concentrate on other aspects of the title, whereas stuff like DAO2 have graphics looking a bit weird/different and we might make the accidental assumption that this is how they’ll look in the finished article (or at least near-as-dammit).

      • The sentence is written using colloquialisms, hence the “is/are” point is moot. I’ve updated it (just for you!) to make it sound even more ye olde Englishy.

      • I feel all speshul! :-)

      • Brilliant! You should continue with the Ye-Olde English theme. It’s great fun talking like ponces, don’t you think?

  5. Sufferer of premature announcements, heehee.

    • Trust you to find something untoward with that sentence.

  6. I like the new look a lot more. I prefer my graphics to be more stylised, and the original Dragon Age characters were a little generic in their art style.

  7. if they can tone down the, just walked through a blood waterfall, look then that would be an improvement, i’m all up for a bit of blood and gore but in the first game it got ridiculous how much you got covered in it.
i will definitely be getting this sequel, even if they’re dropping the different origins, i will miss leliana though.

    • mind you, if it’s a waterfall with blood instead of water, it should really be called a bloodfall shouldn’t it?
