Naughty Dog has confirmed that the Uncharted 2 title update – 1.09 – will go live today at approximately 6pm UK time. The update includes the following;
- Changes made to multiplayer character skin system to allow for voices to be included with future skins
- Made changes to character game mechanics to prevent players from using exploits
- Fixed ability for players to “super throw” the treasure in Plunder matches
- Cash awarded per kill in Elimination has been increased to $750 per kill
- Enabled the ability for Naughty Dog to easily alter the amount of cash earned for individual Medals on a playlist or gametype basis and per-kill
Naughty Dog will also be issuing a LiveData update that will rescale Medal cash awards in Objective games only. For matches which fall under the Objective modes, cash for individual and kill-based medals have been decreased in value, while cash for Objective based medals have been increased as follows:
- Tip Off – $1,000
- Captured – $4,000
- That’s Embarrassing – $10,000
- Protectorate – $2,000
- No Cigar – $2,000
- Drop It – $1,000
- None Shall Pass – $5,000
- Expansionist – $5,000

That’s a good idea, games work much better that way IMO
There can easily be rank limited lobbies so n00bs aren’t pwned (which is what matchmaking is supposed to take care of, not that matchmaking does that good a job at that anyway, as I was regularly on teams of people on lowish ranks against people on ranks 40-60+.
Browsing lobbies AND a Quick Join button (which makes use of the matchmaking protocol) is the way forward – That’s what Warhawk, and others do to great effect, especially as Uncharted2 is a flagship title which people buy when they pick up a new console

Good example…I was playing Warhawk last night and it’s options are super fast. Quick launch got me into a game in the blink of an eye….shame there weren’t that many people playing for the 1t hour or so.
