It appeared yesterday without much warning and caused one or two of us to emit a puzzled snort. So here’s some info on The PSN’s newest football game. With the new footie season fast approaching, and the latest FIFA game not out until the beginning of October, you may well be looking for something to fill the ball-shaped whole in your life. Enter ‘Premier Manager’, a new PSN exclusive title for PS3 coming from Urbanscan.

A management sim in the same vein as Football Manager, Championship Manager, or basically anything with ‘Manager’ in the title, Premier Manager allows you to choose any team from the current English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Scottish leagues, pick and choose the players you want, and tweak the formation and balance for victory.

The game is now available on the PlayStation Store for £13.99, and the developers are promising an update for the game’s data following the close of the transfer window. The trailer is below, and you can read more over at the PlayStation.Blog.

    • Football Manger is a bit to in-depth for some…..many a person has lost countless hours to that series over the years. Something more basic can fill a gap in the market.

  5. Ah Premier Manager, this takes me back to 1992. Used to play this 4-player on the Amiga!

    • Ah, I remember playing Premier Manager on the Amiga too. I also remember finding out about cheat codes which are inputed using the telephone in the office. There was one code which allowed you to crop a feel of the pixelated secretary perched on the desk and receive a response depending on how well your team was doing.

  7. is it normal that the trailer just suddenly stops at the end or is my system messing up the playback?

    • Nah it does seem to – odd.

  8. Looks like it could be quite decent and not too in-depth, bit heavy price-wise though so I’ll hold off for a while to see if it comes down in price.

  9. Ooh, footy management combined with trophies, has to be a winning combination, oh the misspent youth on footy manager games :-)

  10. £14.99 is a bit steep.

    • Would £13.99 be spot on for you?
