EA Play has announced the development of ‘Create’ - available this November for the Wii, PS3 featuring Move compatibility, Xbox 360, PC and MAC.
Looking very similar to LittleBigPlanet, Create “uses families’ imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging” according to Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light.
Players are tasked with exploring the game, solving level-based challenges, and customizing their world. The more you play, the more rewards will be unlocked.
Players can design environments with easy-to-use brushes and tools which include textures, props and animating objects that bring the scene to life.
On the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and MAC players can share any of their creations, solutions or challenges with the community through the console and also via the official Create website at www.create.ea.com. Friends can download and remix solutions and set challenges for other players to download and complete.

That does look a tad LBP-ish.

Doesn’t looks anything like as nice as LBP though!

The Play.Create.Share philosophy had to spill over outside of Sony at some point, which is great because competition will mean greater experimentation.
Also, good to see it features Move compatibility.

no kinect though, that’s a surprise, seeing as this is the only current title like it on the 360…

Looks like a hurried attempt at a competitor to LBP2 if you ask me.
It’ll be interesting to see how this sells.

The use of ‘brushes’ & tools sound similar to Modnation… so maybe you choose something and then ‘paint’ it on

Couldn’t you actually ‘Create’ (haha..sorry.) in LBP anyway?

Due to all the attention and brain power required to form that magnificent pun, I missed out out the word ‘this’. I meant ‘create this’.

A bit forthright I know. I may be being too quick to judge but as first impressions count I think they should have taken a bit more care over the shots that they release.

LBP with Joe Danger’s art direction. Could be alright i guess. I like that the creations can be shared cross-platform.

dang! not the only EA game though, FIFA11 will allow you to download your eafootballworld created players into your creation centre, from any console.

After watching the video on the create website, it looks more like a vehicle based version of the old PC game ‘The Incredible Machine’ than LBP.
Could be interesting, could be totally gash. Only time will tell.
However, releasing it around about the same time as LBP2 is a guaranteed recipe for disaster.

Good point. Releasing it in the same decade as LBP 2 would be a bad idea. But I wouldn’t mind a new PCS game (Play Create Share. Yes, I did just make that up :D)

Is this a side-on racer then? it doesn’t look that good tbh (from a huge littlebigplanet fan).
