Tiësto Joins DJ Hero 2

88When DJ Hero 1 was announced everybody who had the smallest interest in dance music assumed Tiësto would be on board. After all, Guitar Hero has tunes from the biggest rock stars on the planet; surely DJ Hero would get the same attention. Erm, no.
Never mind, it’s been fixed for DJ Hero 2 and the worlds most popular DJ is finally on board contributing two mixes for the game and you will also be able to see his likeness behind the ‘the virtual ones and twos’.
“DJ Hero 2 is all about bringing people of different backgrounds, ages and music tastes together to have some fun DJing their favourite music. The way the music comes together is fresh and unique and as a DJ, I couldn’t ask for more than that,” said Tiësto. “I am excited to be involved with this medium and to be contributing to a great game with an amazing soundtrack.”
DJ Hero 2 is set for release this autumn as a standalone game, with a turntable peripheral or as a “Party Bundle” that will include the game, two turntables and a microphone for when your Mum fancies singing along to Lady Gaga.

Now that really is a bargain! Snap it up while it’s cheap, I’m thinking when DJ Hero 2 is released retailers will get wise and bump the price back up.

And that’s really the problem isn’t it. How can they come up with that long artist list then go “oh God, better throw in Tiesto as an afterthought to keep them quiet”.
Tiesto had a song in DJ Hero 1 btw. So did Paul Van Dyk. 1 song each. Not enough. The world’s current most popular DJ is Armin van Buuren due to the fact he is a massive sellout, although I guess Tiesto is right up there still.

They probably only added Tiesto because of his mainstreamy single with Nelly Furtado. I don’t think we’ll see the likes of Gold Rush or these kind of tracks from him on DJH2.

Tiesto is quite frankly the most overrated, underwhelming DJ out there. His set at his own festival last Friday @ Victoria Park was just mindnumbingly boring. I haven’t heard him play a good set since Ibiza in 99/2000 and the glory days of Peach @ Camden Palace. Activision, Get some real talent in there!

Wow, you know I was thinking when I read the article that I haven’t heard Tiesto produce a good track since around the time of Sensation 2000. As for his sets, he went down to really yawntastic progressive a long long time ago, I remember him doing a 6 hour set on some caribbean island in 2003, omg it was boring, and his mixing was worse than mine.
