One of our readers contacted us recently to ask if we’d help with a report for a school project, and because the topic’s about PlayStation Move we were all too happy to help. Basically, we want to know why you’re buying PlayStation Move if you are buying it, and why you’re not if you’re not. The project is specifically about how Move stacks up in relation to the Wii so please try to put all thoughts of Microsoft’s new control system out of your mind for the duration of this brief poll. If you’ve got anything specific to add then please use the comments.
Please vote honestly. There’s an education at stake.

Good idea but my reason is not listed.
It looks worth playing does seem better than Wii but the real driver for my decision to buy is that I only have a PS3, the cost is therefore significantly lower than getting a Wii.

Same here. I don’t really take the Wii into consideration when thinking about buying a Move.

I have never had a go on a wii for more than 5 mins so I just want to try some cheap motion gaming so i said “It seems better than Wii Motion Plus controls” option because that seems to be the consensus from most previews on the net .

Voted on the first one but not the second (which makes sense as I can see me getting one sometime this year).
Good luck with the project. Can we have the name of the forumite/member? :-)

I voted for “Games for Move don’t seem any better than existing Wii games.” Its the precise reason I won’t be getting it (yet). I haven’t seen any ‘hardcore’ games that I want, the only games that intrests me are Sorcery, and LBP2 is going to be brilliant regardless of Move.

When I votes, “Games for Move seem better than games for Wii” was in front, which surprised me a bit. The current announced Move games, are a bit dissapointing. Not as bas as Microsoft, but titles like The Shoot, Party On and Kung Fu Rider are crap. Sports Champion might be oki, but I really doubt it will be able to beat Wii Sports Resort.
The Wii might be a weak console with lack of HD, but don’t underestimate it games, it has some really really strong Wii motion games and it’s going to take quite some time for MS and Sony to have enough proper titles.

Couldn’t agree more.
Even if people think it’s better for core games, then for every SOCOM4 there’s a Modern Warfare Reflex or CoD World At War. Then there’s all the crazily playable fun & inventive games that may take Sony a few years to catch up on.
Some people seem to think pixel count = gaming greatness.
However, if Sony can get game Devs to shoehorn in some of the tech demo stuff into actual games that’d be great, but that rarely happens and the devs will probably just stick with easily marketable Wii style games with a higher pixel count.

Nunchuck to run around and Wiimote to point and shoot.
Nav controller to run around and Move Stick to point and shoot
Nothing wrong with World At War controls, MW: Reflex was a bit hit & miss, but Medal Of Honour Wii was great and The Conduit’s were amazing, certainly better than anything experienced on the HD consoles.

I possibly will buy Move but i think it will be a combination of factors that will make me decide rather than one specific reason.

Like a few others above, my reason isn’t listed as an option…
I have bought in to other PS peripherals on day one only to see them gather layers of dust behind the telly (I must get the Dyson round there). Save for a few fairly generic motion games at launch plus add-on control for a few upcoming games I’m not convinced Sony will support the Move peripherals as much as they could do. Hence, this time around I’ll be holding on to my cash and spending it on LBP2, FIFA11, etc. rather than Sony’s next dust magnet peripheral.

I voted for the ‘games seem better’ option which is basically the truth. I liked he interactivity of the wii but only had 2 games that I played on it (resi 4 & tomb raider anniversary) I’m looking forward to Sony bringing motion control based on a formula we know works into the hardcore market.
