17This is it! This is the big one. After months of speculation, Adarakion Games are proud to announce… (drum roll)…
ROCHAIN!
Oh yes. The worst kept secret on TSA is now officially spinning to your door in September 2010. So, you’ve been reading about it for the past couple of months – what is it? Good question!
RoChain is designed as a pick up and play “brag em up”. Essentially you are presented with a board of “cells” and you pick one to rotate. These rotations then cause chain reactions which effectively build up your score. Depending on your selection skill you may trigger one of the numerous combos – some of these combos are easy to achieve, some near impossible, but it’s down to you to try and discover them all!
So, what’s a “brag ‘em up”? Well, it’s a genre that’s kinda been around for a while now – effectively once you have your mammoth score, you brag about it. The brag outlets at the moment are either twitter, or, for those of you who don’t use Twitter, you can post your score to our online leader board and let the entire world know you have the biggest one.. RoChain that is…!
The entire concept of the game is that even a 3 year old can play it (and my son does on a regular basis). The competitiveness drives you to have “just one more go” to try and top the high score table, or beat your best mates on Twitter!
Before the game is officially released, we want to run a small closed beta, just to iron out any kinks in the various systems, and this is where you guys come in! If you want to apply for the beta, drop us a line at “beta_at_adarakion.com” (without the underscores and with an @ of course) with “I WANNA ROCHAIN” in the subject line, actually, you can put what you like in the subject line, I’m not fussy, just keep it clean. Hot chicks phone numbers etc. are perfectly acceptable forms of bribery! On the 20th August, we will then pick a selection of applicants to become closed beta testers. Beta feedback will be via our private forums, so you will get to communicate directly with us and feedback any positive or negative feedback that you may have (not that you will have any negative feedback of course)!
All things being equal, and the beta not turning up any massive issues, the game will go live to download in the first couple of weeks in September. The game will be free to play and all we ask is that if you like it, feel free to drop us a couple of quid via our donate page to enable us to buy loads of bee.. sorry, to fund our future developments and help pay/support our server costs. I’ll do a further announcement on release closer to the time so you are all fully clued up!
That reminds me, the website has been revamped to celebrate the release of RoChain and the guys have REALLY gone to town with it, and I think you’ll agree it’s certainly a squidillion times better than the previous page!
So there we have it. Four months of development has built to a crescendo with our first ever Beta release. Exciting and daunting at the same time! Get applying for the beta and who knows; when we are intergalactic mega superstar developers, you can say you were there at the beginning, filling our proverbial Adarakion rocket with fuel!!
