According to PlayStation’s Community Team Moderator Bambaroo, the PSN will ‘go down‘ between 8am [BST] and 9pm [BST] next Monday, the 30th of August.
“During this maintenance period,” says the post on the EU PlayStation forums, “you will be unable to access the PlayStation Store or Account Management.” Sounds like you’ll still be able to play games, but won’t be able to buy anything from the Store.
Posters on the forum are hoping this fixes reported Trophy syncing problems.

As long as the online gaming element is unaffected, then it won’t bother me. There’s nothing that I want from the store at the moment anyway!! ;)
