39The official Room299 website might still be ‘coming soon‘ but the event’s happening now over in the Netherlands. We’ve got a friend of the site at the travelling show and he’ll be reporting back as soon as possible, having played the latest versions of several big PS3 games.
In the meantime, though, here’s a couple of videos of Gran Turismo 5 from Room299, grabbed from GAF. The first shows what looks like the E3 version with the GTRs flying around the ‘Ring, the second the Citroen rally rar whipping around the Toscana rally course.
The game’s looking fabulous.

ah, kl. as long as it works. i’m trying to decide between the G25 and G27, i’m quite a big bloke so i think the G27 might be better as the peddles can be adjusted. how spaced would you say the peddles on the G25 are?

I’m pretty big too (6″ 2) and I’d say they are like driving a reasonably small sports car like an MX5. I have no problem with them, they are close enough for heel-toe down changes but spaced enough for ‘normal’ driving too.

To me, Gran Turismo is hella boring, but the level of realism at this pint is nothing but astounding.
Are there gonna be crash mechanisms this time around?

At 3:40 on the first video did anyone else notice the AI car going sideways at the bottom??
It’s not in the next shot but I’m sure it’s WAAAAYYYY off track.

Can’t wait, but the rally one was slightly disappointing, only with minor stuff, but still. I don’t like the fact it has invisible walls (like the Top Gear Test Track). Just let me drive off the track and then do a fade and put me back on the track or something. The day/night cycle was also a tad too fast, but maybe we can edit the settings for it? The shadows for the cars looked pitch black, but that may be just because it’s off-screen footage, hopefully. And then there’s your headlights not actually casting any light onto the car in front. But like I said, minor things really. Still can’t wait for it.

The day/night cycle looks pretty fast but I guess thats just so you can see the effect. You can probably change the settings too.
Looks good though.

Thought I’d drop by and have a look at TSA today. Not disappointed, the rally stage looks great. Pitty about the lack of sound :(
