You may remember the mystery trailer we brought you last week from Telltale games. It featured the silhouettes of Tycho from Penny Arcade, the Heavy from TF2, Max from Sam and Max, and Strongbad from Homestar Runner and certainly got tongues wagging. Well the game has been revealed as ‘Poker Night at the Inventory’ – where apparently;
“These characters come together in ways some never thought possible, in a setting few would have predicted. You’ll experience a new style of poker, particularly when hands don’t go the way of the other fiery competitors at the table.”
I’m actually smiling now as one of the quotes in the comments section of the trailer article was;
“If this is a poker game, I am going to be very disappointed (Telltale made a Texas hold’em game a while back). Seriously, anything but a card game and I’ll buy day 1.”
Good news mate – you’ve just saved yourself $5!

Me too, but I prefer to play it ‘properly’ without gimmicks. I can do that for free (obviously not counting the betting) at home with my friends or online.

But can you play as the heavy in real life? No.

Heh, I feel famous.
Annoyingly, I’m such a Telltale fanboy I’m still kinda considering whether or not to buy it.

Well I was rather wondering how TT could possibly develop yet another 4-5 part game series, considering they’ve only just polished off S&M, and now have to get properly cracking with Back to the Future and Jurassic Park…
Then I was thinking just how idiotic the story would have had to be, and how completely un-conducive to a good game the four characters picked were…
Poker works fine, so fair enough. Many people will feel disappointed.

Shame, this could have been brilliant.
