We made it to the second round! After a few worries about no-shows and me running around like a mad hatter (no change there then) trying to find replacements or conjure up contingency plans, we managed to get 16 of you to race and came out with 8 winners.

But before we get to the results, I’d like to thank Da_Buckethead, Heedbaw and Spikeymikey for their efforts in filling in as I didn’t want to be handing out any byes in the first round, as well as DrNate and YamsterSG for putting in the time on the other end.

So then, the results look like this (winners in bold):

*Brendan and Rocket raced “first to 3” rather than “best of 3” by mistake.

Looks like there were rather a lot of white washes going on out there, but I’m told that many a race was actually rather close. Even so, it’s now crunch time as we’re already into the Quarter Finals.

The randomly drawn fixtures look like this:

YamsterSG (YouLikeYams) vs. icuyesido
Freezebug2 vs. MadJunkBoy
Rocket_345 vs. Manorhowze
DrNate86 vs. R1MJAW

The rules are the same as before: Best of 3 races (not first to); 5 laps per race; Action; Elite Speed. This time, though, you’ll be racing on the track “Island Dash” (track 7/28 by UFG).

You have until 11PM on Wednesday 22nd September to race. Once again, almost a full week to get your races done and results in. If you manage to get them all done sooner, then we can get on with some semis ahead of schedule. As with last time, email the results me at stefan@tsa2.org with the subject “MNR Results”. Also, get in touch ASAP if there are any problems.

To anyone reading this that doesn’t already know, the regular MNR meet happens every Sunday at 6PM, hosted by our friendly little MNR meet tyrant icuyesido. Come along, and if you have a track you’d like to have played, he will make it so.

  Me too, I was struggling on that track with Steering, Drifting and Shielding around the tunnel and wooden bridge all at the same time, and got torpedoed nearly every lap whils’t leading, but it was a really good match.
  Ooooh! Island Dash….great track with shortcuts here and there, should be good. I’ll probably race the weekend again, anyhoo I’ll find out soon when it suits MadJunk.

Well done to the winners.
All three of the members I regularly play online with are still there and have afforded each other in the next round so have a good round 2 Manor, Freeze & Icuyesido.
