This slipped past us in the first few manic days of the Tokyo Game Show, but during the EA press conference the company showed off the upcoming PlayStation 3 port of Wii title Dead Space: Extraction and revealed a couple of new details.
Firstly, the entire game will be playable in two-player local co-op – an odd thing to watch, as both players seem to occupy the body, the game being first-person. In addition, Extraction will not be Move-only, and will be playable using either the motion controller or a DualShock/SixAxis, for those without Sony’s new waggly doodad. Finally, it will actually ship on the same Blu-ray disk as the full Dead Space 2 Limited Edition it will accompany, rather than just being a redeemable code in the case – good news for trade-inners who might get a couple of extra bob for the LE.
Of course, no-one is expecting Extraction to stay exclusive to the Dead Space 2 special edition, and it’ll likely be up on the Store for all not long after launch, but the interesting thing to note is the inclusion of DualShock support. With the work now done to add controller play, it wouldn’t be too hard to see the port come to the Move-less 360 too.

Isn’t Extraction an on-rails shooter though? I can’t see it being as much fun without Move tbh. Local co-op is a nice addition for Move owners, maybe he has a gun in each hand and player 1 is the right hand and player 2 is the left hand! As for DS3 support it’s probably just a way to make the LE appeal to more people (and to allow co-op in 1 Move households).
I can’t see it coming to the 360 as I believe money changed hands between Sony and EA for both this and the original MOH game with the new MOH LE pack…

I wonder how it will play. I already played the Wii version and very often you are only given a split second to pick up powerups or whatever. That’s feasible with the wiimote/Move, but with an analog stick…
Maybe the game adjusts itself depending on the type of controller you use.

i hope it plays like RE:umbrella chronicles(it sounds like it does) and as for DS3/6A blatantly move is the way to play it and its just compatible with DS3/6A

I hope it stays PS3 exclusive as well as the Medal of Honor Frontline. Just out of spite for all the 360 fanboys that keep saying on forums that the PS3 versions of DS2 and MOH are poor compared to the 360. They are just jealous.

When i saw the gameplay on extraction with the DS3 it didn’t look like it played that well because the sight was jumping a little and it looked much easier with the move.
