After just under a month since this competition was announced, we’re already at the finals! Following the already titanic battles that took place in the semi-finals, I’d say that the fight to win will be suitably epic in scale.

YamsterSG and R1MJAW raced on Friday afternoon. Yamster got the better of the dominant force in every Sunday meet, taking the first race by about 10 seconds, before getting caught in the “right plampf” (his own words) through the multi-routed mid-section. Taking it to the third race at 1-1, Yamster pulled out a lead, and managed to hold it with some cunningly placed mines. Apparently, one mine managed to take out R1M twice!

Meanwhile, Manorhowze and MadJunkBoy faced off on a lazy Saturday on the harbour. After an intense first race, where Manor sideswiped MJB twice on the last lap to win by 0.157 of a second, MJB exploited Manor’s flashbacks to the previous final (where he lost to Project Jay), and came from behind to level the tie 1-1. The deciding race started off close, just as the first two had, with the lead swapping many times, and weapons flying back and forth. MadJunkBoy pulled away, though, as Manor ended up facing the wrong way a couple of times. He tried to catch up, and got a few weapon hits, but couldn’t quite manage it.

So the Semi-Final results are as follows:

  • MadJunkBoy 2-1 Manorhowze
  • R1MJAW 1-2 YamsterSG (YouLikeYams)

Winners in bold

There we have it. MadJunkBoy will now face off against YamsterSG for the overall victory, whilst R1MJAW and Manorhowze scrap to save a little face and get 3rd place. The usual rules will apply, Best of 3 races; 5 laps per race; Action; Elite Speed. This time the track is “Rumble Island”. (UFG track 20/28) You four know the drill with emailing me the results to stefan[at]tsa2.org, and to get the race done by 11PM, Sunday 3rd of October. So I won’t repeat myself. (Oh… damn)

To anyone reading this that doesn’t already know, the regular MNR meet happens every Sunday at 6PM, hosted by our friendly little MNR meet tyrant Icuyesido. Come along, and if you have a track you’d like to have played, he will make it so.

Good luck!

  3. Well done MadJunkBoy and YamsterSG.
Unlucky Manor, you have to hope it’s third time lucky.

  4. It wasn’t a mine that got me. A stray rocket from a hydra got stuck before the moving bridge section on lap 2, which then proceded to attack me as I passed on lap 3. It didn’t make that much difference however, as Yamster already had a healthy lead.

Looks like I’m going to need a new fridge … XD

I can’t imagine that was more annoying that Lightning Lag though. Close, but not quite.

  10. I’m pretty surprised at the results of the semi-finals, as that was certainly not my prediction…unlucky manor and R1M, but best of luck to Mad and Yam in the final.
