Codemaster’s latest game F1 2010 has been a great success and has been a huge hit with TSA. After some great games with TSA members via the TSA Meets, the community team are setting up a TSA F1 Championship.

The championship will be made up of one race per week for ten weeks. After that the top three drivers will compete in the championship final against each other for another three races to decide the final result. Two championships will run side by side to allow us to have more entrants, bringing the number of places available to 24. If there are a significant number of people applying, a third championship may also be run to allow 36 entrants. To be clear, the separate championships will all be equal in terms of settings and status, and the top three drivers from each will battle it out in the final to find first, second and third place.

In each race will be a member of the community team who will be the marshal for the race. Their decision on any matters concerning the race is final but we would appreciate it if you could do your best to admit any accidents you’ve caused. They will have the power to decide if something is a race incident or of someone deserves a penalty added on after the race. The championships will run on the following days:

  • Championship A – Sundays at 5pm
  • Championship B – Mondays at 6pm

TSA is being extremely generous with this competition and is giving £40 worth of PSN vouchers for the overall winner as well as trophies engraved with the winner’s name for first, second and third place. The winner will be decided by points using the F1 scoring system e.g. 25 points for first. These will also be awarded as TSA points. The usual terms and conditions apply and TSA’s word is final.

For the full list of details for the championship please take a look here where instructions on things such as what to do if you can’t make a race will be outlined. I recommend you view these before emailing in your entry. The standings and results of the races will also be posted there and please post any questions you have there as well.

To enter, all you have to do is email adam@tsa2.org with “F1” as the subject and the following information:

  • Your TSA ID
  • Your PSN ID
  • Your preferred day of the week from above
  • Whether you would like to be considered as a reserve driver if you don’t make it into the championship

If you want to enter the competition but absolutely can’t race on either of those two dates or times, then please feel free to send in a date and time you can do as if there is a significant enough amount of entries a third championship may be made on a date and time chosen from your suggestions. If you can make either of the dates, then please let us know in the email.

Remember, you must tell us your preferred date or else your entry will not be counted.

The entry closing date is Friday 8th October, after that the entrants for the championship will be decided and published, hopefully at the weekend where the start date for the Championship will also be announced. If there are more applicants than there are places available then some applicants may become reserve drivers.

Good luck, and get practicing!

    • I’m with Tony on this one. Good luck to everyone. Great competition by the sound of it. Especially for someone wanting PS+ and can’t afford it right now.

  2. Also, i’m loving all the competitions Tsa are coming out with. I’d like to organise a Tsa fifa 11 league if you’d let me? How would i go about doing that?

    • Post in the Community Suggestions thread in the General Chat forum.

    • Yes! I actually emailed TSA about this but never received a reply. Please! A FIFA11 tourney or league would be great (: Thing is, I’m from the other side of the world when compared to US or UK so lag MAY be a problem :/

  4. These comps are a great idea and its great for the community but I think this will be another one to sit out from. I can get pwned anytime without a prize at stake :(

  5. What the point, R1, Manor and Jambo are gonna be the three winners lol, but in all seriousness, they is going to be a few arguments about penalties and crashes, sometimes you cant avoid them, some people start to moan (including myself) when people crash into them, and that’s when it’s friendly, no money involved, I don’t know if I’m going to apply because of the arguments this could cause.

    • lol, agreed & agreed. I think I hit a few people in sundays meet without even realising it. Unless they’re pretty much in front of you it can be impossible to tell where they are, especially with only stereo sound. And spinning into people, Vettel style, by being to rash getting on the throttle is always a nightmare.

  8. I would have loved to have had a go, but I decided to skip buying this game as there are so many other good games coming out over the next couple of months that I also want!! I hope TSA will run a similar competition for GT5 when it’s released.

  9. I’m never going to win but I’m in anyway. I’ll be the honorary HRT car for the championship.

  10. In not sure on the no flags rule. I’m sure someone will be stubborn and deny crashing or something. Going to be tough for the marshall.

    • I agree, sounds like it will be hard to marshall. Also with a prize at stake, somebody may get tempted to cut a chicane here and there.

      But good competition idea though!

    • Yeah people will have to be more obedient in corners, they’re just being silly sometimes :D
