Crazy Taxi Dated For PSN/LIVE

Well that seems fare (groan!).

Well you asked for it, and SEGA has provided as Crazy Taxi has been given a European release date of November 24th.  The price for this slice of nostalgia is 800 Microsoft points /£6.29/€7.99 – so that’s not bad at all.  This re-release will contain updated 720p graphics, 16:9 aspect ratio and leaderboards.

For those who have no idea what I’m on about, Crazy Taxi was originally released on the Dreamcast and is one of the best examples of how to create a perfect arcade game.  You drive one of several taxis, and the objective is to pick up fares and drop them where they want to go within a set time limit whilst driving like a maniac.  Sounds boring, but it is great fun; check out a video of the original in action.

i enjoyed the dreamcast version when it was first released, but the novelty wore off for me pretty sharpish, dont think this is one for me. Wouldnt say no to a discounted version though ;)

Yeah it’s a game designed to really be played in short bursts. Brings back good memories though :op

Yea agree it’s a good game but really for very short bursts at a time, come on Sega how about some better games i.e Shenmue, Daytona usa 2001 would be awesome online a classic that gets forgotten and some Saturn shoot em ups to name a few.

Ha-ha for some reason I could see your post as a Penny Arcade strip. Nostalgia porn, something like that.

Awesome is it just the Original Crazy taxi or like the Crazy Taxi 3 on Xbox. I played that for hours an hours with all the extra challenge modes and the awesome soundtrack by Offspring. Please tell me its that version?

Fabulous in small doses, don’t think I’ll get it as I still play the original on my DC.

On paper, this game should never EVER work but it’s just so much fun. Shameless lunacy at its finest.
