Demon's Souls Completed In Under An Hour

Stop whining!

Demon’s Souls is a tough ole bastard, isn’t it? Or is it? Punishing European gamers since its release back in June, Japanese gamer “alternalw” has literally scoffed at all the pissing and moaning about From Software’s (apparently) hard-as-nails RPG and, in a mind-numbing act of defiance, has completed it in less than an hour. 54 minutes and 54 seconds in fact.

There are four videos of his humbling achievement in total, the first embedded here to get you started. You can almost hear the maniacal laughing in the background as he literally lays waste to Boletaria with aplomb. You have an hour to spare, right? He apparently did.

Huh? Is this for real? I can’t watch the vid as my mobile is shit like that, and i’m not going to spend an hour watching a vid of someone else playing a game anyway. But i’m literally shocked. I haven’t played it yet, it’s on my lovefilm list, but less than an hour? Wow!

It’s real, though he basically runs past practically everybody. Everybody he can, at least.

There is something odd about it, though. He selected ‘New Game’ but clearly has spells and inventory he wouldn’t otherwise have been able to get.

The tutorial/intro is skippable as you can proceed straight to the Nexus when creating a new character.

does this game have a start again with your levelled up character option?

that would explain being so well tooled up at the start.

yes you can do that. but its even harder at first, so you would have to start over several times.
also he is choosing new instead of load, and i think to use your level character you have to load a savegame…
also i think the health/magic/stamina bars get bigger as you level. i havent played for some time, so i cant say if this proves he is doing it with a fresh character

There is a New Game+, that gets progressively harder each time you complete the game, but you need to load a save, rather than create one.
Its impressive, but if he’s using cheats then I still want to sneer at it.

    First question: Why? Just Why?
    Answer: Because he can.
Second question: Isn’t that just pathetically sad?
    Answer: Yes.

There we go. Saved three extra posts. :-)

Deleted my save file by accident for this game so have to start from scratch – guessing this method will be a bit beyond me though…

It took me 30 plus hours, so I don’t think it’s sad. It’s timesaving!

Yes, if there is one thing I hate it’s wasting my free time on playing games ;)

But how long did it take him to practice this over and over again before he recorded the final run through? i would rather take my time and enjoy this great game.

rather a long time by the looks of things, you can tell this is being played by somebody who knows the game inside and out.

I’m one of those players that practically crawls through this game, making sure I’ve covered every area and killed as many thing as possible.

    This guy’s a ninja.

    Fair play to ’em.
