We’re still waiting on our copy, but rumours are flying around this evening that someone, somewhere, has a copy of Gran Turismo 5. Proof? The picture below, apparently of the game’s disk, and yes – that’s a retail version, if indeed it’s not some fancy Photoshop hoax.

I don’t know where the image originates from, whether it’s real or just a printed fake stuck onto another Blu-ray (and I can’t even confirm the product serial number) but if you fancy trying to figure it out for yourself, this thread’s probably a good place to start.
Have fun.

We all hope so.
A release date announcement would be the icing on the cake.

Origin of the disc, guy claims to have a 3.41 PS3 and is going to a mates to play and get pictures.
Disc seems genuine enough I guess, Australian certification and Austrlian manufacture.
Also the guy posted evidence of playing Black Ops since the 22nd.
So it may be real?

Basically what I am trying to say is I spend too much time looking at gtplanet.

Yes, go to sleep! (disc looks genuine though, but I’d rather isolate myself from all the leaked GT stuff now and just wait until I get to play it myself; although of course I enjoy all the hype)

The bigger pic shows it looking a bit grainy compared to the rest of the pic – that seat(?) – but that could just be the texture of the disk, Seems good though, if it is.

The printing looks a bit grainy and dodgy… who knows?

Yea a little bit, but then a real disk has that mat feel/look… then a camera will make the texture of the disk a little more odd looking. might be real, but i do find it hard to believe that the game has been stamped and a big deal has not been made of it. If GT5 gets stamped at, lets say, 1PM this afternoon, the internet would of light up by 1:05PM

The internet has been alight with the game being stamped/pressed for the last few days. Where’ve you been? :-)

The American serial is BCUS-98114…
Apparently Australia does use BCES as well though.

I’m gonna get NFS too, along with GT5. I fail to see why they can’t co-exist in your collection

Don’t know…. Hot pursuit would get old (like any NFS) for me and I would pretty much still be playing Burnout. Paradise if I wanted to.
