Just What Is BioWare Teasing?

Yesterday’s teaser image and video from BioWare got us pretty excited; in fact CB still hasn’t recovered and has been roaming the corridors of TSA Tower screaming “MASS EFFECT, PEW PEW PEW!” at anyone who dares cross his path.

There have been a few ideas floating about as to what the game could be, fuelled by BioWare releasing cryptic codes that relate to mass, temperature and iron.

Kotaku are saying that, according to a development source, the game being teased is a Mass Effect multiplayer game that’s been “designed to appeal more to the Call of Duty market.”  This would tie in quite nicely to BioWare’s call earlier this year for multiplayer programmers to “take existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.”

Add in the fact that former Raven Software (Quake 4, Wolfenstein) lead designer, Manveer Heir, has moved to BioWare to work on Mass Effect, and I think Kotaku could be on to something.

Of course, this is all speculation, and the game could be ‘Generic Space Marine 10: The Return’, but there is something very ‘Mass Effect’ about what’s been shown so far.
