GT5 Owners Getting Christmas Treat?

9Japanese GT5 owners will be getting a special Christmas treat in the form of three free cars to add to their garage from December 24th through to January 31st. Andriasang are confidently stating that “Anyone with GT5 will be able to make the download for free”, but bear in mind we have yet to hear any official EU announcement. The cars in question are:
- Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640
- Jaguar XJ13
- BMW M3 Coupe
We really hope a similar (if not the same) offer will be extended over here, as it would be a lovely “thank you” to those who waited (and waited, and waited) for Gran Turismo 5 over the last few years.

Really? Free cars? As if there were a lack of them. How about a new feature like adding realistic nitrus for arcade mode or better tutorials on how to drive the cars in the first place

I think the license tests do a great job of teaching you to drive properly, especially the sample replay that talks you through the best way to beat the test.. Not sure about nitrous tho, bit Need for Speed imo.

I agree. It’s like real driving so if you can do that, it helps but even without, the licenses are designed to teach you the techniques you need to learn.

GT4 had NOS but didn’t have much effect.
I want odometers back, if you’re on a long straight, either way behind or in front, and you get a bit bored, you could watch your car’s mileage increase.

I liked the NOS but it was cheating a bit. In races that were horsepower limited you could add Nos without increasing the bhp (because the increase only happens when you use it) and the AI cars never had it.
If you adjusted it to maximum effect/minimum duration, it was damn powerful too and would easily last 5 or so laps if used sparingly on the straights. It was just annoying that B-Spec Bob wouldn’t use it.
I’d like to see it back in if they made it a bit more realistic. Make it available in nozzle sizes and have dry/wet, multipoint etc and let the AI (and Bob) use it.

Free DLC with NFS: HP, now GT5 (hopefully in the EU)… I’m liking all this freeness. It’s my favourite price.

My girlfriend works for Nissan and one of her colleagues went to Japan (as they frequently do obviously) last year, about this time. They don’t really fully get the symbolism cos he saw a decoration that was a fairy lit crucifix with Santa on it! lol

To me it’s not so much of the christian holiday for me it’s getting a lot of presents and having a lot of decorations everywhere in the house and being with my family and of course having snow christmas wouldn’t be christmas without snow :)

I believe they are part of the Chrome pack that came with the collectors edition (according to the Gran-Turismo forums).

M3 and Gallardo were two of the Chromeline cars that came with the Signature Edition, but the Jaguar would be nice, please n’ thank you Polyphony :)
