A post over on the official Red Bull blog has sparked major confusion and ‘lulwut’ regarding the GT track of yesteryear – Pikes Peak. The post in question features rally driver Rhys Millen discussing the fastest way up the Pikes Peak course in GT5 which is great, except for the fact that the last time that course graced a GT game was over a decade ago.
Either someone’s been enjoying a bit too much Christmas cheer, or some upcoming DLC has been outed. This isn’t the first time the blog has revealed GT5 information, previously showing us the X2010, and the Lexus LF-A. The video featuring Millen has since been removed by Sony.

Well it having it as a track would make sense because when you get gold in the Swartzhald B in the Extreme series you unlock a Pikes Peak Audi Q7.

Rally on Gt5 was one of the most enjoyable aspects for me. I loved those rally challenges and found it relatively easy to get gold on them all. More rally special events would be great, but i’m not really sure why they don’t include a rally seasonal.

In my opinion they were far too easy, especially the ones on snow where you can easily get a time well over 2 mins faster than the AI cars (GT Rally, 8 stages).

I’d like some tracks back. I miss El Capitan, New York, Seattle and Midfield.

I agree, In GT4 the minolta was won by doing the 4hr endurance race in El Capitan.

I hope we do get some more tracks as DLC. Pikes Peak was always fun on earlier versions of GT, plus I’d love to see Apricot Hill as well.

I can see it happening, but I don’t know how they will integrate it into the game, will the tracks only be availiable in Arcade and practice modes or will we get new events with them in?

El Capitan is an IMMENSE track so would love to have that back. Pikes Peak has been done by Dirt and is actually a boring stage to be honest. Would be nice to see it in 1080p however with PD level of detail – so essentially i would like it for aesthetic reasons more than for driving reason (I think I must be getting old!!). I am sure that there was talk prior to GT5 release that Silverstone and Spa were also tracks which were going to be included on the disc. Additional DLC? I frikkin hope so!! Especially Spa.
