Gran Turismo 5 continues to evolve well beyond its initial release, proving that some of the early reviews were pre-emptive, inaccurate write-ups of a game that has grown considerably since release. Yes, it’s still inperfect but as Polyphony’s online portion evolves at a steady pace and the number of races and features likewise, it’s clear that anyone buying GT 5 is in for a long-term ride.
The notion of the B-Spec races might confuse some still, but even if the concept of letting an AI driver do the donkey work effectively tieing up your PS3 is slightly alien, the idea that you’ll be able to do just that from a browser whilst in another room of the house (or at work) surely must excite even the most wary of gamers.
Polyphony boss Kaz Yamauchi has confirmed that this new part of GT5, dubbed Gran Turismo Anywhere (or Remote Racing) is still coming, and it’s due next month. It’s still not 100% clear what this feature will actually provide, but the official GT site clearly states that your PS3 will have to be running in order for the feature to work. Let’s hope it’s worth the wait and gives us slightly more control over our drivers.

I wait in anticipation. GT5 is really evolving into something quite different from the release day version!

I’ve been quite ill for the last few days and B-Spec was about all I could manage. I enjoyed it anyway but now have 6 drivers and am into the endurance races. I’ve done a few but for the big ones like Nurburgring 24 Hours, having access from work or my mobile would be awesome.

I’m forcing myself to do b-spec for the money and extra cars. The longer races really do get boring, would be nice and less of a bind if I could control it from my PSP!

You can’t really blame the early reviews. You get the game at it’s release. You can expect a finished game. With all the delays and then have a bumpy online experience like that at launch is kind of embarrassing. You review other games based on what you get at launch. Games that have as much content as GT5 has and yet GT5 gets a special treatment.
Haven’t touches GT5 in the last month due to other games being more interesting but I might give the remote racing aspect a try.

This is nice and all, but maybe they should fix the carlights first.

So I’d be able to continue my B-Spec racing even tho I traded GT5 for NFS? :P Good stuff!

Probably not…:P
The last paragraph states that “your PS3 will have to be running in order for the feature to work…” I reckon GT5 will have to be in the PS3 during that time, sorry.

I think the thing I’m most excited about GT5 is b-spec, it sounds brilliant, and any improvements will be great.

Sounds like Remote Play from a browser from what they are saying.

At this stage in my GT5 career this won’t really make much difference to me as the only B spec race I have yet to do is the 24h Nurburgring. Wish this feature could have been launched sooner.

The biggest issue with GT5 I believe is, too many ideas were added but not completed. Yamauchi is a genius but he needs managing. If he had focused on completing/perfecting some of the great GT5 features instead of adding loads of incomplete ones, GT5 would have been a far greater and a less unfulfilled experience. I feel like GT5 is a beta and a frustrating one at that. From now on I’ll be happy to wait for a complete game, than hope for a rushed game sooner.

You* may be the first person in history to call GT5 rushed. :| <— that's my bewildered face.
*If you were in a coma for the last 5 years I apologise.

Who said anything about rushed?

I actually agree, there’s a few good features from GT4 that have been left out of GT5, mainly helping to make B-Spec easier and quicker. Plus in GT4, B-Spec was only there if you needed it, it didn’t make up half the game.
I was telling AG2297 about all th flaws with GT5, and there’s quite a few.
However when I have a race I can do, I do enjoy it, although even then, things could have been improved

I don’t agree with that. B-Spec is like an extra chunk but it is entirely possible not to touch it at all and still have a very full game. Also, with licenses, specials and seasonals there is way more on the A-Spec side, B-Spec is no where near half.
