Gran Turismo. A beautiful game that continues to grow, with its Seasonal Events and seemingly limitless unlockables, not to mention Polyphony’s ability to listen and act on the fans wishes. The more time you put into it, the more rewarding it is to the player.
When I played through, there was a turning point in my quest to gain supercars and in turn an increase to my credit balance. This point was when I received the world renowned Bugatti Veyron, with over 1000 BHP, when fully tuned it can blitz virtually every road car the game has to offer.
Its been a few weeks since Christmas has rolled out of town and many readers may have had Santa throw a copy down the chimney. By now, the highly coveted Bugatti Veyron will be in virtually all of your garages ready for a run out. If not, take a look at community coordinator Teflon’s unlock guide in the Gran Turismo forum for all you need to know about the cars you can win. In this case, you win the Veyron by taking Gold in the A-Spec Professional Series’ Gran Turismo World Championship.
TSA now wants to offer all Gran Turismo 5 players the chance to win a nice sum of money for the fastest driver out there, not only the fastest though! We don’t just want to reward the best this time, we are also digging into our back pocket to scrape together something for the most average driver in our ranks. This is how TSA’s bandwagon rolls!
So, ladies and gents, its quite simple. You break out the Bugatti Veyron (make sure it is tuned up to its maximum capability), get yourself on the High Speed Ring via Practice or Arcade Mode, then go round and round trying to break the land speed record in an attempt to clock an outstanding time. For both the fastest and the average driver, calculated by a high tech piece of kit we have in our locker room, you will receive a £5 Amazon voucher, as well as our usual selection of TSA points.
When you are comfortable that you cannot go any faster send a picture, as demonstrated above, in an email with ‘Bugatti Time Trial‘ as the subject line to Lee@tsa2.org. Make sure you include a little note in the picture with your TSA ID on it. Entries for the competition close on Sunday 23rd January at 9pm. That gives you plenty of time to get your petrol head on and perfect the lap. Only one entry per person is allowed so make sure you are happy with your effort before sending it in.
We’re cracking on with plenty of competitions in 2011, and GT5 will feature heavily, so keep checking in on the Community, Competitions and Meets sections of the site, as well as following @thesixthaxis and @TSACom on twitter for even more TSA.

Not a huge fan of the High Speed Ring but i’ll be giving this a go. Maybe we could have a group practice on Thursday evenings meet?

Fairly sure i’ve golded all the pro series, yet I’m Veyronless?! Only thing yet to gold except endurance series is the historic racing cup. Waiting for my bspec to win me the Toyota race car.

It’s definitely right. A-Spec, all gold, GT World Championship.
I think you need to gold the championship AND each individual race as well.

Should just be from getting Gold in the GT Championship thing. No need to gold the individual tracks, just the overall championship.
Don’t forget that it’s a Standard car, not Premium, so you could just be looking in the wrong place for it?

Hmmm, will definitely have to check this. It’s possible I golded the championship but not one of the races. Can’t believe i’ve been missing out on some Veyron action!? I’ve unlocked the Zonda in B-spec.
I have gold all the way through untill the extreme series which i’m just starting on.

I’m 99% certain you only need to do the championship, the car will only unlock once a Gold championship result is completed. Then once the championship is complete, the individual races reflect what your best result in each race in the championship was.

I’m 100% certain it’s only the championship gold you need.

I’ll feel a right plum if I get home and find it lurking in my (virtual) garage!!

Right, plum doesn’t cover it!! There were about 3 events in the Pro series that I’d not even done!
Veyron now rightfully earned. Now to gold Advance and Extreme spec. Lord only know how I’ll gold the Endurance A-spec!?

Brilliant.
I have actually not used my Veyron much so will have to give it some attention and have a go at this.
I love the ‘most average driver’ entry too, typically unusual (if such a thing is possible) TSA competition

Yeuch, the Veyron. Think I will give this one a miss! Will have to be busy with F1 and other secret projects anyway…

Can we have a prize for probably a bit better than average but still nothing to write home about?

Was there any more news on the rumour of some existing cars being patched up to Premiums?
Surely the Veyron has to be the most demanded car

The Veyron is a fast car indeed, but doesn’t like turning too much! Still, I’ll give this a go!

I thought that but when I looked back at my run with the data logger you realise it just doesn’t feel as fast as it is so in the corners you think you’re slowing down a lot but you still have a sh*t ton of speed, the g-forces are pretty impressive!

I suppose it feels more tank like being used to driving the Formula GT and even more so the X2010. They stick like glue!

I regularly race the high-speed ring to earn money, so I’ll give the Veyron a run for it’s money! (See what I did there?)

Haven’t played GT5 much – how long from start playing should it take to unlock the car?

If you do the seasonals, it shouldn’t take you too long. Once you are the right level you can jump straight to the championship, and you will have plenty of money to buy and tune a powerful car to win it with.

Yeah, if you level up high enough to compete then even if you don’t want to buy a car to compete, have a look in the forums here, someone will lend you one to win that event with.

Cheers for that. Will give it a go, but only have a couple of spare evenings this week and also need to get my Shatter entry in or Dexter will start hunting me! Too many games and not enough spare time!
