L.A. Noire’s groundbreaking facial animations are certainly fun to look at, but what if you could use the those animations to help you, in game? That’s the first thought that comes to my mind when I look at these new screenshots. All four of them showcase shady-looking fellows being interrogated. I can’t help but wonder how much control you’ll have over these situations and whether or not you’ll be able to make a ‘gut-instinct’ call based on their reactions to your questions.
Whatever the answer is, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out. L.A. Noire is due out this spring, and we should a concrete release date very soon.

I really like the idea of using facial expressions to spot tells and for all intents and purposes it looks as though L.A Noire is going to have this done perfectly. The only worry then is whether or not I’m good enough personally to spot it…

YES! Although I know I’d get the pathetic guy who twitches every time he’s got a good hand and so everyone will fold lol

wow looks boring, they should just make a movie instead of trying to make them look more like people >_< instead agent should be pushed more, thats what we really want :S

I feel you are totally missing the point of the game maybe you should stick to the tried and tested yearly franchises.

I’m with you on this one mate. Looks like we will pull an all nighter just like we did with Mafia 2. Good times lol.

The branching aspects of the storyline sound interesting and using facial expressions during the interrogations could be amazing. Although I am worried that the acting might be so over-the-top in order for the ‘tells’ to be obvious enough for the less observant players.
I presume it would be technically impossible for the faces to be harder to read depending on the difficulty setting. Perhaps that’s something for them to work on for the next one?

Glad to see the character models looking every bit as good as the faces now, looking good. Though the ultra realistic mouth movements still make me shiver, creepy.
