Who doesn’t love to stare at small sections of a car, and try to figure out what that car is? That’s why we’re running a Gran Turismo 5 based picture quiz. Suggested to us by Manorhowze, it will follow in a similar vein as TSA sister site ScreenDemon’s ‘Whose … is it Anyway?’ series.
From today until Saturday, there will be a post each day, each containing pictures for three cars. To keep it challenging for all levels of car spotter, each of those cars will have three pictures of varying difficulty, separated across three pages, so that you don’t accidentally spoil it for yourself! Obviously, it’ll be the harder pictures first, so don’t be disheartened if you don’t figure them out on the first page, click on the image for a closer look, and then try the next page.
Speaking of spoilers (ha!), please don’t post the answers in the comments down below, but feel free to gloat about knowing all the cars just from the first page. I’d also value a bit of input on the clips I took. Were they too hard? Too easy? Just right? I can then try and shift the difficulty a bit for the rest of the week.
Last thing before we get going. If you think you know all the cars and fancy a few more TSA Points for your horde, you can send me an email with the subject “It’s that car” with the 15 cars and your TSA ID to Stefan@tsa2.org and the closest 15 people will get a nice 50 points. After the last set of pictures go up, you’ll have until 11PM on Sunday 30th of January to get your emails in to me, as I’ll be posting what the cars were and the 15 winners on Monday the 31st.
Enough chit chat, on to the cars! Today’s vague theme is “Supercars from the last 20 years or so”.
Car 1
Car 2
Car 3
Can you tell what they are? No? Don’t forget to click on the thumbnail for a larger view, and then try the next page if you still can’t tell.. If, however, you’re a car whizz, then I’ll hopefully be seeing you tomorrow.
We’ve got a lot planned for the next few weeks, and right now we’ve got everything from LBP2 to Bad Company 2, so keep checking in on the Community, Competitions and Meets sections of the site, as well as following @thesixthaxis and @TSACom on twitter for even more TSA.

Well it seems that most people have found this to be rather easy. So people know, the second day is already set, as I have no time tonight, but I’ll make sure that days 3-5 are more obscure, and have much less on show for the first page, with the 2nd page also a bit harder.
But since we’ve seen quite a good reaction to this, I can definitely look at running this again in a months time or so. :)

*Thinks of a witty comment about cars they definitely aren’t.
*Types it up into a well formulated comment.
*Checks to make sure it hasn’t already been done.
*Deletes comment.
*Walks away with drooping head.

Just in case you missed it at the bottom of the page, there are three pages worth of cars :-)

By that you mean three lots of photos of the same three cars?

Not the best looking page 3 I’ve seen today ;-)
good challenge guys, but what i know about cars could be written on a stamp. My car history is all French, i think that speaks volumes

Got them all from the first page! *Gloating*
This was too easy though… But I love the idea and look forward to the next batch of pic’s.

I think I need to try and find the right balance. I’ve already got tomorrows ones sorted, and think they /might/ be a touch more difficult, but the back three I can try and make excruciatingly difficult on the first page if enough people want that. So far it seems that most are heading to the 2nd page at least…

as a tip, headlamps and rear lights are easy give-aways so keep them at later pages. And yes, I’d love a good challenge in the last three. Keep up the good work Teflon!

Oooh nice idea. I think I have 2 of the 3 cars but I couldn’t do it on the first page alone.

Whoever thought of this was a genius :P
I got all 3 from the first page. I would say they were a wee bit too easy but that maybe just because they are Supercars and are more recognisable.

I retract my nice idea comment :P
