The guys over from the Official PlayStation Community (OPC) reckon that they are pretty good at Gran Turismo 5, and they probably are, but over here at TheSixthAxis we also reckon our community are pretty good too. So, naturally, we decided to have a fun meet up between the communities to see just how fast we all really are.

That’s where you guys come in! We need 7 of you (and preferably a few reserves) to compete against members of the OPC community in a few friendly races. If you have a headset make sure it is charged for some friendly banter.

The Rules

Date: Thursday 27th January at 8pm.

Races: 6 races in total. 3 races in which everyone uses the same car and 3 races using shuffled cars. The first 3 tracks will be chosen by the Host and the last 3 will be done by vote.

Scoring: The scores will be based on the top 5 finishing positions. Scores for each team will be added up at the end to determine the winners.

  • 1st Place 10 points
  • 2nd Place 7 points
  • 3rd Place 5 points
  • 4th Place 3 points
  • 5th Place 1 point

The points will be added up after the 6 races and the winner announced along with the winning team. The top 3 players will be asked a few questions which will be written up as an interview and posted in an article on the website.

To join in on TheSixthAxis team email adam@tsa2.org with your TSA and PSN id before 12:00pm (noon) tomorrow. If there is more than 7 entries then entrants will be chosen by random.org. The list of drivers will be posted in the forum here tomorrow and details about hosting and invites will also be announced there.

  10. I expect I’d be way too crap to get involved. I’d rather TSA did well than I made the numbers up.
