The Bugatti Veyron is a marvelous machine. Many hate it for its handling but it cannot be denied its acceleration and top speed are truly impressive. After the community gave it a run out on the High Speed Ring you came back with a variety of times and as you can see below we have a clear winner, our resident driving machine Manorhowze.
How he achieved this time boggles the mind. I myself had a go for funsies getting just over 57 seconds with what i thought to be a perfect lap. I was wrong. While we should all bow down to Manorhowze and his amazing skills behind the wheel we didnt just run this competition to see who is fastest, we also gather to hail the most spectacularly average driver our community has to offer.
Entries were a touch on the slim side this time around, something I hope will not be the case next time but that doesnt mean an average cannot be gotten from the results. The times are below.
Average – 57.573
Out of the 11 entries we recieved, an average was worked out backstage using our high tech equipment to find that freezebug2 is the closest to the average. A £5 Amazon voucher will be winging its way to both Manorhowze and freezebug2 very soon along with our usual selection of TSA points to boot.
All community members who missed their chance on this should stay frosty and eyes wide open for another instalment of the Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial challenge in the way only TSA can. In the meantime keep an eye out for our GT5 “What Car Is It Anyway?” quizzes, our GT5 races and some LittleBigPlanet 2 goodness.
Finally well done to Manorhowze on such an amazing time. You truly are a gifted racer.

I was too average to have even unlocked the Veyron yet sadly. Too many other games taking every spare second of spare time I might have. I’m sure my better half is going to make me put the steering wheel gear which has been taking up about a quarter of the living room since the day GT5 was released away soon.

Bloody hell Manor, that is fast! Congratulations, that is an amazing time. Makes mine look pedestrian. I struggled to even replicate my own fastest time with any consistency. I think it was the last turn that I never really got right.

Looks like I’m in good company in the 57s (and above average!). I was quite happy with 5th until Manor pops up there 2.1 seconds faster!! I hope he resorted to some serious setup work on his Veyron cause I might just have to give up if he is really 2+ seconds a lap faster around a very short circuit! Imagine racing him at Le Mans?! He’d lap everyone after about 15-20 laps!

Sweet, I wasnt sure how good the time was but i didnt expect to be that much faster.
My best time was a 57.6 but after the F1 meet on fri I put in an hour on it and took 2 secs off. I think most of that came from the last corner as I found that going in deep and then running high and wide you could nail it out onto the straight.

Well done mate, cracking time. If I’d entered I would have scraped into the top 10. As you say on the last corner by going deep and taking the high ground you get a huge sling shot effect that makes a huge difference on the long straight. I also found the same on the second corner by running the car as close the the kerb as you can. Anyway hats off to you sir!!

Excellent time manor, the best I could have got was in the 56′s as I had earlier in a quick practise got a 57.1 but I wiped my laptime board to have a clean sheet thinking that I would easily get that time again or better, but I never managed to replicate the time and so settled for a 57:5.
Well done to everyone who sent in a time for the event, I think that there wasn’t a large amount of entries after people tried a few laps in the Veyron and found it to have terrible handling and so gave up

It is an awful car. The track is sort of suited to it though, no extreme corners.

Darn, I beat Teflon but didn’t get round to submitting D:
Excellent times though. I couldn’t imagine shaving off a whole five seconds!

Haha, I wasn’t much of a challenge, mind you. I borrowed Roy’s car for all of an hour, did about 5 or 6 attempts and just couldn’t find my rhythm with turning, so packed it in.
Damned good time from Manor, most impressive, and good to see Freeze get a little backhander too :)

Hi All
One question what’s the best car to win gold in the last Pro series entry. I think I need a sports car of sorts. Been trying for ages and still fall behind. I bought an amx sls 10 last night and tuned it to 721bhp and still i couldn’t get up front.
Hence my reason for not entering I couldn’t :(
Cheers

I think that I used the Zonda R which I had won in the B-spec Pro series, not certain though because it was a while ago. Some others on here should have a better idea though and be able to help you.

I used that too. I needed zero driving aids to be fast enough though – one heck of a drive.

I’d love to have the Zonda, loved that car on Shift. I guess my next question is what car wins the B spec race in pro to win the Zonda :)

I came second with the Bugatti a couple of times. In the end i went back to it later but the Furai can do it if you have won that in Bspec yet?
