TNT Racers Release Date & Price

Explodevan.

I must admit, until the press release arrived I had not heard of this game but it looks like it could be a fun little racer. TNT Racers will be available for download in the UK via Xbox LIVE for £7.99 (we don’t know how many MSP that will translate to) on February 9th 2011 and on the PlayStation Network for the same price on February 16th 2011. The UK release dates for the WiiWare (also £7.99) and PSP (£6.29) formats will be announced shortly.

The game featuress 18 race tracks for up to 4 players and is billed as ‘pick up and play fun for all the family’. The game also boasts a unique feature that when a player is thrown off the track they immediately rejoin the action as a ‘shadow racer’ to take revenge on remaining players.

Another interesting twist is that players who work their way up the online leader boards will be rewarded with free game content including new cars and new tracks. Check out the trailer below.

Looks like it could be a lot of fun.
Your last sentence suggests a very interesting approach though I wonder how those who aren’t as good at the game will get their hands on the extra stuff … I suppose I’m wondering if they’re referring to the extras as in-game unlockables or DLC.

Day One!!! Been waiting aaages for this, ever since FirstPlay gave it a glowing review. It’s very similar to Mashed, which was some of the best 4 player fun on PS2 (a reason to own a multi-tap). Used to play that game for hours on end!

Mashed was excellent! Very under rated. I hope this is as good as that.

My sentiments exactly! I was hoping for a track set around a giant bathtub and a pool table. One can hope.

Looks like a fun little title, but I’m not sure how well the restricted and narrow racetrack goes with powerups… I hope I’m wrong and it turns out great, so I’m looking forward to playing a demo or(more likely)a trial of it.

It looks like a top down version of MNR!… Could be fun but I’d imagine that fun would wear out quick.
