Journey: 3 Hours to Finish

As you might know, we’ve dispatched Alex to the far-flung corners of the globe on a mission to check out PlayStation 3 titles that aren’t released yet. Alright, its only London but that’s far enough when you have to share a berth on the overnight train with someone else’s feet.

Anyway, we’ve just got word back from him that Journey, TSA’s number one most anticipated game of 2011, is being displayed. Apparently it takes only three hours to finish if you really run at it (the single player portion, most of the experience is multiplayer) so we’re sure some of you will be panicking a bit at the prospect of a single player experience that leaves you feeling unfulfilled.

Well, worry not, in among the communications we’re receiving back from our man in the field are expressions like “It’s amazing”, “Mindblowing” and “Single player is a tiny portion”. So it seems that regardless of length (and remember, the multiplayer section has always been the focus and will be significantly larger) the experience will be another amazing one from ThatGameCompany, the guys who brought us Flower and Flow.

If it were possible to be more excited for this game, we would be.

  1. hmmm have i missed something? ;s

    • If you are referring to the fact that everyone still seems hyped about a 3 hour singleplayer experience, then yes you probably have missed something. Journey has always been touted as being much more about the multiplayer part, interacting with others etc.
I guess you can consider the singleplayer element a warm up?

  2. As long as it’s a brilliant game (and I’m sure it will be), it doesn’t really matter how long it is. Who will just run through such a stunning game anyway? I can’t wait to start the journey :)

  3. I think game completion time is completely irrelevant. If I’m playing a bad game, it probably won’t see an hour of gameplay before I get rid of it. Likewise a good game, if it really is great then I could repeatedly play the single player without getting bored.

  4. Want.

    That is all.

  5. Still intrigued about this. I’ve seen trailers but I’m still not really sure about what it is you actually have to….do. But i loved flOw and Flower so if its under a tenner I’ll grab it anyway.

  6. I dont know anything about this game, so im going to read the preview ;)

  7. will be getting this for sure

  8. This is actually the first game from them I’ve had interest in buying. flow was boring as hell, and flower ain’t for me. 3 hour journey is disappointing, but it looks interesting enough to overlook.
