It’s been a while, but finally Namco has announced a brand new multiplatform Ridge Racer game, due out next year for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s being developed by Bugbear Entertainment, best known for the FlatOut franchise, and SEGA Rally on the PSP.

Oddly, I was only thinking yesterday that it’s about time we had a new Ridge Racer. Next year though??? Also- Unbounded? City streets? Traffic? No open world rubbish please Namco. We’ll have insane looking cars racing at 200mph, sideways, along stunning closed courses.

The original Ridge Racer game was one of the reasons I changed allegiance from Nintendo to Sony.

That trailer isn’t Ridge Racer, it’s a teaser for one of the bad Need for Speed games.

Never been a ridge racer fan, although it looks great fun I’ve always thought it tries too hard to be an over the top arcade racer….may buy it when it’s in bargain basement for a tenner.

i love ridge racer but that trailer seems to go against everything that ridge racer is about.
