Two big hitters this week, Team 17′s final part of the Alien Breed trilogy, dubbed ‘Descent’ [here's our review], and quirky puzzler The Undergarden [and our review for that one is here]. And on the demo front, there’s the massive Dragon Age 2, one for LEGO Star Wars III and Yakuza 4, now available to everyone.
In addition, Fallout New Vegas gets Dead Money and the Retro pack is available for Killzone 3 [review], plus the first of the new batches of DLC for Hot Pursuit is out.
And the PlayStation Classic? Twisted Metal. Lovely.

Not massively impressed by the price of the KZ3 map pack. Yes, they’ve put extra dev time into them, but they should /really/ be free. In fact, this is a minor pet peeve of mine, why, if the game is running on an evolution of the same engine, do they not just bundle all the maps from the previous game entry on the disc?
A bit like the jump from Unreal Tournament 2003 to 2004, ’04 was an entirely additive release, encapsulating the entirety of ’03. I get that they want to eke out a little more cash, but I’m bored of paying for things I’ve already paid for.

Well the DLC is free if you bought it on a right shop.

I’m with you there. And I reckon the Hot Pursuit DLC is a rip off too, for the tiny number of events you get! Cheeky publishers.

It’s only free if you get the more expensive Collector’s or Helghast edition.
Which shops are giving it out for free? HMV and GAME don’t appear to be giving the codes away…

It’s included in the two collectors editions. However, for both, you’re paying a premium over the standard price. So it’s not free.
Not to mention that I meant that ALL the KZ2 maps would be included on the disc, not just 2 as a downloadable expansion on day one. Even if you count the ones in the CEs as being free, it’s just 2 of the maps, and it’s hugely likely that they’ll bring across a few of the other maps in little bundles like this.
Oh, and what of the DLC for KZ2? Wouldn’t it be incredibly rewarding for the trio of DLC map packs from KZ2 to be forward compatible with KZ3? Or the map packs from UC2 be forward compatible with UC3?

If you complete the killzone challenge in Home you will get a code for the Retro Pack and 3 multiplayer points

No, you only get a code that gives you 3 upgrade points, no Retro Pack.

Actually I wrote a note on this in a tsa forum I started.
I actually got the game today but the 3 unlock points are not showing and neither is the retro pack. However maybe im early to the table as its not officailly released till Friday. I called Sony support and they can see I downloaded something on the 23rd but on my store I can’t see it in my list of downloads yet. Also in game the option in the menu for downloadable content didn’t work between 2pm and 3pm when I tried it today.
However I found this on the playstation forum’s so you both right it is and it isn’t im hoping it is for me personnelly.

Can’t wait to try out the DA2 demo. I have never been so excited and the doubtful about a game in ages. Will really miss the other playable races (especially for an RPG!), I just hope it isn’t too watered down.
Is anyone else slightly unimpressed with ME2 from an RPG perspective? There really aren’t that many weapons, armour or even skills to play with.

Dragon Age 2 demo is the only thing there for me, might try out The Undergarden, but so far I’m unimpressed.

Love the first 2, so will be happy if it’s just more of the same tbh.

I hope people have noticed that it’s the smaller, American or American-centric publishers who don’t get things released on the SCEE store at the same time as the SCEA store. You should be seeing quite a clear pattern. I certainly do. I’ve been doing a LOT of shouting.
