Killzone 3 DLC ‘Steel Rain’ Announced

As expected with the release of any big FPS, news of upcoming DLC is never far behind. Announced on Killzone.com, Killzone 3’s second map pack (the first being the Retro edition) will feautre “two brand-new multiplayer maps inspired by locations from the single player campaign.”

The two maps are called Junkyard and Stahl Arms, respectively. Here’s the skinny on both:

MP-09 JUNKYARD
Game Type: Guerrilla Warfare (16 players)
Description:
The junkyards of Helghan are a wasteland to some, but a valuable resource to others. In the main junk processing facility of Helghan, ISA and Helghast Forces are clashing in an attempt to salvage vehicles and supplies for their war effort. Jetpacks are the key to taking the high ground, but the huge Exoskeletons can quickly turn the tide of the battle on the ground.

MP-10 STAHL ARMS
Game Type: Warzone (24 Players)
Description:
As the Helghast write a new and appalling chapter on humanoid experimentation, beleaguered ISA Forces mount a desperate attack on the notorious Stahl Arms research facility, where they hope to free ISA soldiers who have been taken captive. Stahl’s Helghast forces will stop at nothing to ensure that the ISA attack fails, even if it means exterminating the very prisoners they need for their weapons research.

  1. If only i had money to waste on games :( im stuck on all the ones ive had for the last 3 years…. :( havent completed half of them….

someone want to buy me the game? pretty please? lol

  2. The game went gold a month ago, I don’t have a problem with it. As long as it’s cheap/free.

  3. The trophies have updated already!
I also think PS+ will be involved

  4. Last week I pooped into my local Gamestation to preorder a copy of kz3. The guy at the counter gave me three options, the normal one, the collector’s edition, and the special edition, The collectors edition had the the following extra’s Retro map packs, kz3 dynamic theme and sound track. It also came with a bonus of unlocking any weapon of your choice and double XP for first 24 hours in MP. It cost £47.99 The special edition include all that was in the collector’s edition and an exclusive kz3 green jungle controller for £69.99. I chose to pay for the £69.99 edition since I needed a new controller anyway. So imagine my surprise when I go in to collect my game today and I’m told that Sony decided to remove all the extras from the special edition so all I will be given is a standard copy of the game with the exclusive controller. I ask for my money back to buy the collector’s edition and I;m told the multi-player unlocks have been removed either.
    Rip off or what?

    • I think this chap got it wrong. The killzone with the controller was always the standard edition I thought. The CE and the Helghast Edition had the vouchers. Anyhow it doesnt matter matey, fire off an email to gamestation customer services saying that you bought the CE edition and your code doesnt work. they will email you one as there seems to have been a f**k up with the codes

  5. RAD! Can’t wait. Killzone 3 is tie with Bad Company 2 as the best FPS I’ve played on my PS3. Anyone on here bitching about paying for maps so soon after release need to stuff it. We should all be overjoyed that Guerilla thinks enough about its fans to come out of the gate with DLC. In that area, it has already topped Bad Company 2. I hope they roll out as much DLC as they can. Can’t get enough. 10/10!

  6. I’ll be buying. Can’t get enough of the game. Also the DLC is usually well priced, Coming in at under a fiver per piece. im willing to pay that. Saying that, I havent redeemed my retro map pack yet
