This week’s UK charts isn’t a huge step away from last week, with Portal 2 remaining king of the lab. Mortal Kombat retains second place, and everyone’s favourite FPS, Call of Duty: Black Ops, remains firmly entrenched in the charts at number five.
New release, Virtua Tennis 4, failed to crack the top twenty, coming in at number 23. Check out our review here for a Kinect vs. Move showdown.

Whatever the quality of it is, Homefront’s still selling.

oh yeah. i’m surprised to see its doing so well. seems like there are too many mixed views for it to keep up these kind of sales

Must admit I wasn’t going to pick it up because of the reviews, but saw it with quite a hefty discount in Tesco last week, so I bought it as an impulse buy for £25. Pretty glad I didn’t pay much more for it, it’s not great. Not terrible either though, just middle-of-the-road average.

Mortal Kombat outsold Portal on PS3 (as it did last week). Virtua Tennis 4 sold best on PS3, 13th, compared to 24th on Xbox 360, and 27th on Wii.

It’s nice to see a non-shoot ‘em game (well, almost…) at the top of the charts for a change.
Gives me hope for the human race…

I must be the only person in the country who doesn’t own (and have never played) Black Ops.
Still need to get my hands on a copy of Portal 2 but Fifa 12 just went to the top of my want list after last nights football!

No, I haven’t played Black Ops either – that makes two of us! :)

I’m suprised Portal 2 is top. Don’t get me wrong, it’s epically awesome, but doesn’t involve shooting people/aliens/zombies, doesn’t have COD in the title and has reduced potential for 12yr old Jonny to scream down a headset.
I just thought it was maybe too cerebral for the gaming masses. Perhaps my faith has been restored a little.
+1 for the not owning or played blops club.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. Chamber 8 of Test 4, 12yr old Jonny decided it was funny to use the turret to gun me down numerous times then left it stationed just outside the respawn room. Nob.

I really will have to order Portal 2 I think. Something different to play.
A couple of my friends rant about how good BlOPs is but have never played it myself.
I’m going to start Homefront soon. Like Mugsy I got it in Tesco for £25.

Contrary to most commenters in this thread so far, I did but BlOps… one of the few games you can get for ~£25 on launch day thanks to the super-competitive offers. Loved it, played the campaign twice & sank some time into the multiplayer… traded it in for £33 once I reached the limit of my ability (which isn’t that high on FPS’)
It’s the only game every year that actually pays you to play it for up to a month.
Have been planning on re-buying it, because its a blast and after the fantastic trailer for Escalation my mind is made up. Can’t wait to get back in the action, the talk of 12 year olds screaming is much exaggerated and half the time it’s people making themselves feel superior just by being derogatory to something which is popular.

£33 where?
I got Blops with my 360 and its still the worst COD ever, the audio in the game and hit detection is pathetic, just isn’t as entertaining as MW2.
Its not my internet cos i own at MW2.

Really glad Portal 2′s on top, it’s one of the best games of this generation so far.

Portal 2 is deserving of the top spot, but I can’t believe how FIFA is still hanging in the top half of the table. They must be going cheap, because it isn’t too long until the football season is over and another one releases!
