Crysis Heading To PS3 And Xbox 360

Although Crysis’ sequel made it out quite happily to PS3 and Xbox 360, the original game never did.

However, after a slightly vague listing on Friday from the Korean Ratings Board, the rathermore easy to follow ESRB has listed the game for both PS3 and Xbox 360.

“This is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a soldier who must help defend humanity against an alien invasion,” says the listing. “Players use handguns, machine guns, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers to kill aliens and other human soldiers in frenetic combat.”

Yep, that sounds like Crysis.

EA aren’t commenting on the discovery – not yet, anyway.

  1. Would love to try out the first one just never had a strong enough PC to run it.

    • Me too, here might be a chance. Again though, i hope the PS3 version doesn’t suffer. Seems peculiar that a company would release the sequel first then wake up and realise they have a prequel sitting there….

    • I loved the original Crysis and Warhead, it’s standalone expansion. In my opinion they were much better than the COD-ified second game. The first just has way more freedom, and played much better.

    • I managed to get through the demo on my laptop all on “very low” I enjoyed it allot :), surprised the laptop didn’t blow up, you should of heard the fans going :O

      • I got to 80′ C, accorfing to CoreTemp!

  2. I doubt EA will comment on it today, since its the 4th. They’ll be busy with barbecues and fireworks haha

  3. “that sounds like Crysis” – It sounds like a dozen FPS games!

    • Actually, this is true – If particular mention had been given to the nanosuit, then it would be obvious, but the above could describe any cookie cutter styled fps!

  4. Oh, this would be wicked! I loved the first one, and a chance to play it on my platform of choice – YES PLEASE!

  5. Aw, what’s the point in doing this now?

I only started playing the second one last night, but I would have preferred to have played the first, first (if that makes sense?).

Not a fan of the prequel phase that Hollywood has been in for a while & likewise, I tend to prefer my games played in order!

    • Whilst I agree with you, playing the second one first doesn’t make that much of a difference with Crysis. You might get the connect with a few of the characters (Prophet), but thats it.

The second one doesn’t even mention the events in the first one before towards the end of the game.

  6. I really cannot wait. This is probably my most played FPS. I only stopped because running it eventually baked my laptop.

I hope it includes Warhead and Crysis Wars, and that they refrain from dumbing down the suit functions like they did for the second.

  7. This was always rumoured dating way way back, so its no surprise they are finally getting round to it

  8. Ooh this would be very welcome!

  9. Wouldn’t mind renting this. Wish I could play it on a high end PC tho. Lol.

  10. I bought this for my PC but nevver actually got round to finishing it so may well pick it up for ps3. much easier using a pad rather than a keyboard and mouse for me anyway
