In the latest issue of weekly Japanese gaming rag, Famitsu, it has been reported that Capcom is developing an expansion for last year’s Sengoku Basara 3, known overseas as Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes. Dubbed SB3 Party the add-on is said to be taking a much more light-hearted approach to the series’ traditional formula, focusing mainly of co-operative play and alternate storylines for in-game characters. Speaking of which, 8 new playable characters have already been confirmed, mainly consisting of samurai who have taken a seat on the back bench as NPCs in previous iterations. Sources suggest that we may be seeing more characters gradually unveiled as we approach the game’s launch which is planned for Autumn.
Sengoku Basara 3 will launch for both the Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 in Japan, with no given price-point or prospect of an overseas release, so keep those fingers crossed Dan!

I always felt 3 lacked characters and needed more :op
Really hoping this gets released overseas, scrolling through the stages in the base game and seeing all of those NPCs is a pretty depressing experience. Especially when I then see Tsuruhime as a playable character, before gently weeping inside about the fact that she was chosen over somebody who, well…wasn’t Tsuruhime.
Sounds good though otherwise, will probably pick it up as soon as I can if it makes it to the UK (and then watch as it slowly saps away my life again).
I spent time watching the first four episodes of the anime, man do I want that time back. It was like having a badly made sock puppet punch me in each eye then insult and taunt me. :(
It got better towards the end. Or maybe it didn’t, but it sure did look pretty on bluray. :)
I have no idea what this game is. Can someone fill me in with the details? is it a hack and slash? A RPG?O-o
Apprantly its Capcoms answer to Dynasty Warriors or the Samurai iterations.
hmm i tend to forget the names. :/
