The new Resistance 3 developer diary is in, focusing on Resistance 1 features that have been brought back for the latest game. An example of this would be the return of the weapons wheel.
Hopefully we can get our hands on the beta soon and give some of these features a try!

I’d never really made the link between Resistance and Ratchet before, but yeah it makes sense. Love the Auger in Resistance, sounds like they’re going in the right direction with the weapons here.
I wonder how they’ll handle health, R1 or R2-style.

The health system will be like Resistance: FOM.

If any game in the next 3 months is going to convince me to get a PS3 again it will be this one. Loved the first two games and am going to find it really hard to resist (completely unintentional pun) this one. Once they give a price for the survival edition I’ll make my mind up :)

Best decision they made was to bring the weapon wheel back. I’m still annoyed that they changed it in R2.

agreed. R2 was so predictable. Oh here’s 4 rocket launchers on the ground, so here comes something big. R1 was perfect with the weapons- lots of weapons but you had to manage ammunition or otherwise things could get ugly quick.

Please tell me the campaign co-op is back. I loved playing through the whole game with a mate on split-screen or PSN but it just blows my mind when a game has it removed from the sequel
(R2 & Black Ops I’m looking at you here)

Yeah I couldn’t understand why they chopped the co-op out of R2. Playing through the original via split-screen is still one of my favourite ps3 memories :)

Resistance: FOM is one of my favourite PS3 games, great story in SP and the whole MP set up was ace, with the custom lobbies so you could see who was playing what map/game type. All online lobbies should be like that. Plus it had the 2 best maps ever in Manchester and Somerset
