Following last Saturday’s maintenance on the PlayStation Network in Europe for Sony published games, the company have announced another spell of downtime.
This time the PlayStation Store on PSP and PS3, account management, account registration, and the ability to sign in on eu.playstation.com will be unavailable from 16:00 BST (GMT+1) tomorrow.
These services will be offline till 03:00 BST (GMT+1) Friday Morning. But if you sign in before the maintenance starts, you will still be able to play your games online until you sign off. Attempts to sign in after 16:00 BST (GMT+1) will fail.
So a rather irritating period of downtime, but that’s life. At least PSN users outside of Europe should be unaffected.
If you’re planning on visiting the PlayStation Store soon, we’d recommend seeing what’s new and visiting before the maintenance starts.

Oh FFS SCEE. Why did you have to be kind last week and change my opinion of you considering those who work and then return to your normal annoyance levels? I hope the import section gets added to the store during this maintance period and i call dibs on Cross game chat. What do i win if i am right? :)

I think that’s kinda what he was implying Steve.
On another note, this sucks for people that actually, y’know, work! Singleplayer conquests for me tomorrow then!
Aha! I have sussed it – It’s actually a government initiative to keep rioters off of the street by making them be in before 16:00 to ensure that their playstations are on so that they can play multiplayer!

ah right, the bit about other regions not being affected made me wonder.
i guess that’s just because of the time difference then, don’t ask me to work it out i can never remember which way to go and how far, is plus 8 hours or minus 7 or something else? o_O

folding@home doesn’t require you to be signed into PSN so keep on folding! :)

Man, Playstation is pissing me off at the moment. It used to be wicked. You’d log in and iPlayer would appear. Or Folding got a new channel. And now it’s just downtime every week and no noticeable improvements at all, bar a couple of stupid things for plus members that are a load of shit anyway.

Stop your goddamn moaning people, there are far more pressing issues going on than your precious online games.
