Original Max Payne Heading to Mobiles

In HD.

Tucked away at the bottom of the Max Payne 3 date confirmation press release was the information that the original Max Payne game will receive the full HD treatment for mobile devices.

Apparently it will have connectivity to the Rockstar Games Social Club and boast the same features as its PC counterparts — including HD graphics and high-resolution textures that “take advantage of the latest mobile technologies, including incredibly customizable controls and support for wired controllers.”

This would work well with the recently released SixAxis app for android.

Although kinda bizarre when the controller you’re using is bigger than the screen your playing on!! :D

Jebus! I remember my Pc just coping with max payne at the time. I I’m not sure how well the galaxy s2 I’m writing this on will fair. However this phone is a dual core 1.2ghz and my pc at the time was only 900mhz if I recall correctly (albeit with a dedicated graphics card).

Why mobiles? I know they are growing fast but it would sell more on console and PC due to a bigger market? Does this mean we may see a Max Payne HD collection within the next 4 years? I suppose i had better replace my brick of a phone in order to even get to the main menu.

Max Payne already exists on PC, probably for next to nothing these days, and there are various texture mods for you to do a HD makeover yourself..
