The latest trailer for the newest entry into Konami’s survival horror franchise, Silent Hill, is in. The game is titled ‘Downpour’, and the trailer focuses on some story points, as well as a few hundred quick cuts of action sequences.
It’s “coming soon” apparently.

This trailer could have done with 100% less Korn. Other than that I’m really looking forward to this. Silent Hill 1 and 2 are classic games, but I’m also a fan of a couple of the later titles, Silent Hill 4 and Homecoming in particular.

don’t get me wrong, I still have a soft spot for Korn (Issues is a classic) but there is something about ‘oh its a horror game, lets put a metal soundtrack to make it ‘scary’ ‘ that undermines the whole genre (this goes for movies too, Blair Witch 2 anyone?. Also the last time I heard Korn in a game was Haze.. which was scary for different reasons.

Least fitting song ever. The cliché filled footage montage could have been salvaged by a proper Yamaoka contribution, but this was korny at best.
I hope the game has a proper soundtrack in game, or else it’s going to be a day one trade in.

Awful band and genre, don’t see why it could fit in the Silent Hill…in the end it just rolls down the hill…silently with no turning back… (huh?)

Was that a mansion i saw in the trailer? I hope not as that cliche has been done to death in many horror video games. It looks good. But metal? Why not use a creepy track from the soundtrack? as it would help to give the game a horro vibe.

Imo that was by far the worst gaming trailer i’ve seen this year! I feel like i they showed me every cut scene in the game, and that korn song, seriously! I thought the song gave it a whiff of emo which is not good, thats just my opinion.

I was reminded more of Alan Wake than Silent Hill. Not that Alan Wake is a bad game, but its no Silent Hill and I’ve a feeling this wont be either..
