PS3 Firmware Update 3.72 Released

Yesterday Sony Network Entertainment VP, Eric Lempel, reported that system update v3.72 would be launching “soon.”

Having launched overnight, like the majority of 0.01 incremental updates, it’s nothing major, just a few system stability improvements for software and the PlayStation Network.

Early reports pointed at issues with Netflix, but these seem to have been resolved.  The update is primarily meant to sort out automatic downloads, which have been broken for Plus subscribers since recent updates.

  1. Just to mention: from the Official blog on September 7th:

“Another quick note regarding Automatic Update – the SCEI team are aware of the issues that you guys have been having since the firmware update and there will be an interim update to fix the issue coming later in September – please keep a look out for this and when I can update you with an exact date we’ll let you know.”

  4. Good stuff.
Interestingly, the font seems to have gone a little darker in the comments box here. I remember something like that happening before after a firmware update – or has Alex been tweaking TSA again! Either way, nice result.
