OnLive launches in the UK today and whilst lucky punters down at EGX will be picking up an OnLive micro-console for free this morning, everyone else can buy a console for £69.99 from GAME stores.
Once you have your console you must sign up for account via Onlive.co.uk. Games have ‘competitive prices starting at £1.99′ or you can sign up for the PlayPack deal which features over a hundred games for £6.99 a month. The PlayPack offer includes Fear 3, Borderlands, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Saints Row 2. If you do sign up to the PlayPack you’ll also get 30% off all full game purchases.
Single games can be rented for three days, five days or unlimited access. The OnLive FAQ states that ‘at minimum, all current games will be supported for three years after their release’.
The ‘full’ version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution can be purchased for £34.99, the same price has also been set for Warhammer 40,00: Space Marine and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
BT Broadband customers will be receiving a free three month membership to the PlayPack scheme.

Its coming with 100 games and they’re quite interesting especially since I can’t play many on my pc… So is the Playback sub for every broadband customer…since I thought it was BT only? *shrugs*

“BT Broadband customers will be receiving a free three month membership to the PlayPack scheme” – is that not clear enough?

Anyone know how I get my free month with BT?
Don’t think this is for me though, I’m old skool and like to have a physical game or CD, not into digital media.

Yeah but this is mainly pc? Would I really want to continue using discs for that platform? I blame Steam…..and its rivals

What do you mean this is mainly pc?

I guess. Although I’m not sure it is aimed at PC entirely. Isn’t the idea that it’s affordable for everyone (70 quid) and can be played on TV aswell as PC/Mac, and it has a console style controller so it’s almost trying to bridge the gap. Much cheaper for people like me to get this than to buy a top spec PC or get an XBox for some Microsoft exclusive games.
Mind you, would not pay £34.99 for a game that I’ll never own! What happens when the internet suddenly goes down. That’s much more likely than a power-cut! :(

Completely forgot about this. Not seen it in action but is a interesting alternative to traditional gaming

Just tried OnLive on my laptop and it worked really well, considering my broadband speed is utterly crap. In fact, Ive just signed up to the PlayPack.

No baby yet then? :)
Good to hear – we have a decent internet speed in my office so I could buy one to occupy my lunch breaks!

It actually works very well, great for people who’d like to play on PC but don’t have a powerful setup.

according to onlive’s twitter feed, they are giving the consoles/set top boxes away on all 4 days.

Yep, and I really really hope I get one tomorrow, apparently 1 in 5 people will win one, thankfully I’m bringing along my 4 identical siblings.
One of us is bound to win

reading their feed again. if you’ve signed up already, give them your playertag and they’ll give you a console. ‘apparently’

Thats awesome, I done that about 2 weeks ago so hopefully. I’m in line for one of them. I’d definitely pay £6.99 a month if the console was free.
When i first heard this concept I was dubious, but I am really quite excited about it now. I can see this as my future gaming

You really cant complain about that £6.99 Playpack deal. I think thats awesome. Really tempted but the only way I would do it is if I had the micro-console and a couple of controllers.
